HOLY SMOKE. We got outplayed, had too many turnovers, etc., and Samford played well UNTIL we gutted up and scored the last 14 points, to win by 5!

And, Chatt. lost by 15 to the Furples.

Holy Smoke/WOW/Really??...Nicely done!

Saw the last couple minutes - guess the best ones to watch. "Spencer Cochran's" long 3 to give us the lead reminded me of KC doing the same at UTC last year. Good teams find a way to gut it out when breaks or shots don't go their way.

Hope a big crowd is at the BenJo Monday night- tape/TIVO the football game.

One of the best games I've seen at the BenJo. Wow. Spencer Collins. I'll be there Monday.

Regardless of our "pre-season" play, these guys still have the will to win and know how to do it. They were patient and methodically made the comeback when it was available. We made a bunch of needless turnovers, especially early in this game. Despite that we were pretty even at the half and then got blown out in the first part of the second half before we bowed up and got it going. Matt Pegram played some key minutes. We are getting more and more quality time from Sawvell. Fletcher played good, but this was Spencer's game. He asserted himself when he needed to, and showed us all why this is his team. The game tomorrow night was already going to be a good one, but with Chatty losing to Furman they are going to be fired up. I hope we can slow them down somehow.

Cool 49 seconds.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8-LIQl0W70

Coach has accepted responsibility for our unusually high number of turnovers and said that will be fixed.

So glad to see Collins really gaining confidence. He has always seemed a little timid with his game and that was my only concern with him. He has some many tools that make him hard to stop. One of the best 10-15 ft shooters I have seen in a while (mainly because those hardly exist these days). Happy to see him play with authority and urgency!

Did you notice that at the end Sawvell was the most excited guy on the team with our comeback. He has had to sit out a long time, and it is great to see him getting so involved and making a great contribution.

Sawvell is really stepping up. He made some nice looks in the paint v. their zone D.
I was a little surprised Pegram didn't play more in second half given his nice 1st half production but that may have more to do with their press than anything.
