It was good to let some other guys get some PT. Stumpe did well. Our 3-point shooting surprisingly anemic. No need to try to embarrass someone just because you can; their guys were feisty and gave us a good game.

Hope Jackson and Brooks can get more in the flow. Jackson still getting back in shape after his knee glitch.

Believe me, we were trying....and couldn't/didn't.

Okay, if we kept the starters in for the whole game we win by 40 +. We doubled them up, or were close to it for most of the game. Then towards the end when we had the walkons in they threw up a few 3s and made it look closer than it was.

We were definitely trying to embarrass them, by not playing our game early (sign of a young team, or at least an overconfident one), realized it wasn't gonna be *that* easy, settled into our game and then when the game was no longer in doubt (like 5 minutes left in the first half) Coach Young went flexible with his line up.

Guys, Coach Young is playing VERY different lineups and combinations in the early games. He also is putting his freshmen in with others to see what they will do. The objective is not just to win, but to prepare for the conference. We are a one bid conference and that is ALL that matters. Beating an NAIA team by 40 means nothing, but trying players in different situations will matter down the road. He is looking for things like how they react to playing against taller players, quicker players, zone defenses, etc. Learning to play defense is so important in college, because today's players come up through AAU programs that primarily are offensive oriented and play little defense. Now we have a 30 second shot clock and the coaches and players are having to learn to adapt to that. In high school there is no shot clock, so it really is a new concept.
