Wow! Pretty strong slate. Clemson in G-ville will be unbelievable.
Hope we are up to the challenge.

While I love the home game with Coastal, who is always strong, I think getting only two D-1 non-conference home games is disappointing. I was really hoping not to see teams like Kentucky Christian and Tennessee Wesyelan on the schedule. Maybe one of them would have been okay but we shouldn't have both. These games don't draw many fans. I hope the opening of the new JRIS will help us attract more D-1 teams to Spartanburg.

This is a very demanding schedule for this team and should help them when they get into the conference schedule. The comment about the D-1 teams are reasonable, but no one wants to play us. It is getting harder and harder to get teams to come to Benjo. The new area will help some, but when we are still a formidable mid major program, no one wants to come to our place and play us. We had to buy the D-1 teams to come play us and this will be a problem as long as we are a strong program. Good problem to have.
This is the way of life for a good mid major team these days. We are getting a return visit from Harvard and possible one other team that we are visiting this year, but every year getting teams to come to our place is getting harder and harder.
I am not complaining, just stating facts. I love it that no one like to play us, but you have to live with this problem with a good program.
Missouri could be a great win to start off the season. Clemson and Georgia Tech are games we could win if we play well.
I am excited and can't wait. I know the freshmen are in summer school and working hard. The returning players are impressed with them already.

This is not a good problem to have at all..............it's a GREAT problem to have!
What this highlights is that our fair little college is a legit mid-major power with tons of national respect. Nobody wants to come play us. Some of that may be related to Benjo and the JRIS should help in the future; but we are on the national radar as a competitive program. I don't think we understand all of the implications of that.
While I would the home games to be better (don't forget we have conference games to be slated), you can't beat Mizzou, Vandy, GaTech, Clemson (in Greenville), UNC(!), Harvard, Columbia. Plus in state games v Coastal and PC. Really impressive.

I think the out of conference schedule bodes well for us. I can see us being 6-7, but just as easy I can see us being 11-2. There are some tough games against several tournament teams. But, there will be some return games against several of these teams, so we have set ourselves up very nicely. It all hinges upon the play of the players that are replacing those who have graduated and moved on.

Yes, but you never know how conference play will start out...maybe an NAIA program like Tenn. Wesleyan coming to town in mid-January could serve as some kind of impromptu blessing. (Maybe just schedule one, though, instead of two.) But in all actuality, I hope the promise of better non-conference teams visiting Spartanburg comes in the near future. Fellow '14-15 tourney team Coastal is a good one to have over...perhaps some (one at least) of the regional big boys will make the jump over here in the next few seasons, with the new stadium and such.

Love the non-conference schedule. Missouri is a super pick-up; and love Columbia in the Big Apple and Harvard in Boston ... what great exposure for our school. This schedule has to help recruiting, and I see us winning a few of these. This year's team has great potential. Play that D, guys, and watch each other's backs ... grab onto some ankles and don't let go.

This schedule is phenomenal! As many of you have already said, the home slate against two NAIA teams is tough and I would prefer 1 max per year. That said, I think my'all are correct in that it is getting difficult for us to schedule home games against top-level D1 teams. What I'm most excited about though is the reasonableness of our schedule- the games against the Ivy league teams should be competitive. The D1 teams that we scheduled are, for the most part, winnable games. Compared to playing tourney-quality teams like Duke, West Virginia & Stanford like last year, we're playing teams like GT, Mizzou, & Clemson that we should do well against. Plus, we're definitely spreading the Wofford brand around the country with games in NYC, Boston, Nashville, Atlanta & the Research Triangle, which should help with recruiting as well. It's a great day to be a Terrier!

The full schedule is out now. And i just heard Coach Young on Open Mic. He said both Harvard and Ga Tech will return the home game and play in the new arena in 2017/18. That's big news, and I am sure we will start seeing more of that.

Lawdog. Thanks for sharing the final RPI rankings. It is an incredible achievement to see that at #49 we were ranked ahead of several schools that have won NCAA National Championships such as Indiana, Syracuse, Florida etc. Also, we finished well ahead of other in state schools such as South Carolina (#97) and Clemson (#106). I realize it is just one ranking system but it is nice to see little ole Wofford ahead of some of the preeminent programs in the country. A true testament to the PROGRAM Mike Young, his staff and some all time great players have produced. The future looks very bright for Wofford basketball.
