If Davidson was in the SoCon, it might have been a two bid league this year if it came down to us and them in the finals. Add their RPI to the rest of the conference and it might get us to that point. I'm not sure who would have won, but I would have liked to watch that battle play out.

Davey would have won the regular season but choked in the tournament ... again.

I know it is easy to throw stones at Davidson, but personally I think their move out of our league made more sense than any of the others. Davidson is a one sport school. They put all their eggs in the basketball basket. To be a good basketball team year in and out and know that their whole season comes down to winning all their tournament games is tough. They have a very good team this year, having won the A10 and had very good attendance in their great arena. They spend all their capital on basketball. They don't play football and barely compete in other sports. Let 'em go. Now, Elon, C of C, GSU, Appie-they are a little different story!

I agree that their move made more sense that Charleston and Elon. Georgia Southern and Appalachian make sense from a football standpoint.

I don't dislike Davidson for their departure, but I do dislike them because of the way they choose to allocate their resources. Focusing on just men's basketball is a sound investment, but at the detriment of everything else. If that's their call, they should have never been allowed back in the SoCon after they were initially kicked out. I just don't care for the arrogance of their fanbase about their success when I see others (Wofford included) trying to be competitive in other sports, too. If Davidson was fielding a scholarship FCS football program, then I'd respect them a whole lot more.

Their move to the A-10 will be good for them so I can't say they made a bad call. They did burn some bridges on the way out the door, but whatever. I will give them credit, they have parlayed one strong run in the tournament into a public relations and financial windfall for themselves. That being said, I was sorry to see them comeback last night.
