OK. What do we need to do in the second half to pull away in this game?

Ugh. Tied at half 36-36. Furples are 6-8 from three and shooting 60+% from the field. Need to come out and take control of this game early in the 2nd. Come on you SHD's ! Fight again, fight again and fight again.

Limit their 3's and tighten up our D.

I dislike the auto bench of Cochran with 2 fouls. He's our best on ball defender and our best offensive weapon. On some level, I think you need to trust your senior to not pick up a 3rd foul before halftime- even Furman showed trust in their big man Ferrara not to foul. Giving up 6-8 from 3 is ridiculous- as Coach Young said "Twos hurt but threes kill" and right now we're getting slaughtered by their 3 point game. I expect a different team to come out for us at the 2nd half and I hope I'm right because if not, our dreams of dancing just might slip away.

Right now, I just have this feeling that we're not going to be able to shake this Furman team and that this game is a 50-50 proposition. By the way, this whole "four games in four days" thing is overblown...these are 18-22 year old college kids in great shape.

We held on 67-64. Excited? No. RELIEVED!!! Give Furman credit. I don't know how they did it, but they just transformed from the worst team in the league to the second best just like magic late in the season. And they scared the heck out of me! If Furman had won this game there are people who would have never let me live it down!

YES! Dancing time! Gutty performance. Great way to close it out over a scrappy pack of Barneys.

Lee Skinner was named the Most Outstanding Player in the tournament. He was HUGE for us tonight. Eric Garcia also had a huge game for us tonight. Also being named first team all-tournament- Spencer Collins and Karl Cochran.

Hats off to the Furples. They played very well; we just played a shade better at the end. Garcia saved our bacon. Well played, competitive game.

Lee Skinner's radio interview brought a tear to my eye when he said that Mike Young saved him, that he don't know where he'd be without Mike Young and Wofford because he wasn't even planning to go to college. That's what being a college basketball coach is all about- not only winning games but also making a profound difference in the lives of young men. I love this program and Wofford College beyond words.

I was watching the game at a place where the sound was turned down. What did the announcers have to say about us?

Make no mistake, we won this game (more than Furman lost it) but I'm definitely more 50-50 excited-relieved than I've been with our first 3 titles. Furman played extremely well and we continually made the same errors on defense (namely playing help defense off Beans to give him wide-open looks). Their Ferrara is gonna be a prime-time player next year in the post and their young talent will keep them competitive in the future but, at least tonight, our seniors, especially Lee Skinner, and Eric Garcia stood up tall and and won it all! Proud of our team- Go Terriers!
