@ Mercer 2/26

Mercer has a very nice facility down in Macon and they fill it up. This will be a tough game for the Dogs. In a way, playing Mercer is like playing ourselves. Both teams rely on having a suffocating defense and opportunistic offense. Mercer has not been playing as well recntly as they were earlier in the SoCon season, but the Bears will want to avenge their close loss in Spartanburg and will come after us with all they have. But I will say this- If we play the way we did last night vs. The Citadel, Mercer will not beat us. That's easier said than done of course, but if we can win we willl clinch the #1 seed in the conference tournament and be assured of at least an NIT bid. Go Terriers!

Coach Young's postgame comments correctly stated that there is still a long way to go. Mercer will present a very tough challenge, but Wofford controls it's destiny. Hopefully the Terriers rest up and bring the same emotion. Now is not the time to back up or back down. I am actually glad that we have this tough assignment right before the tournament. Wofford is going to have to win three wars in Asheville to get back to the NCAA Tournament and they might as well not coast into it.

I wonder if Wofford will try and take a bus load of students or two down to Macon?

Our interior passing against El Sad was excellent and gave us a lot of freebies in the paint. I expect Mercer, being more physical, will not be as accommodating. We will need to shoot well from the perimeter to loosen up those inside looks.

Interesting concept. It'll get people in the stands, but will they ever buy a ticket down the line if they think the school will comp the tickets for big games? I suppose we should take this as a compliment.

I think MY said the team would be leaving Wed evening for Macon. I wonder if they will leave earlier due to the incoming weather

Maybe the weather works in our favor and keeps the Bear faithful away.

The weather down in Macon is supposed to be decent without a significant chance of snow so I imagine the Bear faithful will be out in force unfortunately.

Don't know if the storm will have any effect on the SoCon schedule, but it appears Macon was not in the snow belt. Hope our guys made it down OK and are ready to go tonight.

They did. Saw photos of their shoot around last night. Hope they got their minds right and game faces on. It will be a war.

So far, so good. Up 35-25 at the half. We are shooting it well. Need to stop allowing offensive rebounds. Mercer coach acts like a kid throwing a tantrum when a call goes against the Bears. It's fun to watch.
