Mercer is shooting it very poorly. We need to really come after them and not let them back in the game. Always scary.

And just like that, they're back in the game. We're stone cold to open the 2nd half. And Bob Hoffman is such a clown- his act isn't amusing in the slightest.

The officials in this game are miserable. Gordon can't guard without picking up a foul. Ridiculous.

That game ended just like the Mercer students' shirts said. Heart over Hype. Gutty win by the T-Dogs.

Southern Conference Champs! We have clinched an NIT bid. Of course that's not what we really want, but it's nice to know we can do no worse than that.

Agreed that the NIT isn't the goal, but hypothetically, we could get a home game in the NIT. Can you imagine the atmosphere inside the BenJo? It'd make the Iona sunrise game look like nothing.

Good game. Spencer played like a monster. Not many teams walk into there and leave with a W

There's a slim chance it could happen. We would have to upset someone on the road in the first round and there would have to be another upset as well. But yeah, it would be incredible...and our seniors would get another home game!

Very true. That is a tough place to win. And Spencer Collins, the future 2015-16 SoCon player of the year, was THE MAN!

I do not want to see VMI in Asheville

I gotta say that I don't care who we see in Asheville, and doubt our players care either. To be the best you have to beat the best. These guys just know how to tough it out. Mercer had a defensive plan, but Spencer Collins evidently wasn't part of it. They can stop one guy, but they can't stop all of them. And how about John Swinton's defense and offense? I hope we have a big crowd at Furman Saturday to end up the best Wofford regular season ever. Very proud of our guys all year long-but especially tonight.

I have to disagree- to be the best, you only have to get hot and win the tourney and you win the tourney by playing the games that are on your schedule. There's no doubt Davidson was the superior team in the SoCon last year but, thanks to a gutty performance by WCU, we never played them and still took home the title. I don't want to face VMI for sure down the stretch because their press exploits one of our biggest weaknesses. Even in crunch time tonight, we were sloppy with the ball and had several turnovers in critical times. Avoiding pressing teams like VMI & ETSU in favor of teams like The Citadel & WCU would be a better matchup for us and hopefully keep our guys rested for a trip to the finals on Monday night. If we're able to make it to Monday, I'll be glad we didn't have to play teams like Mercer & UTC because they're both great teams and winning two tough games back to back is a lot to ask from college kids.

http://woffordterriers.com/news/2015/2/ ... ath=mbball Spencer Collins played one of his best games. Too many team turnovers, however .... 13. And they shot 62 % in the second half.
