ETSU has a very good team, coming to town with a 6-3 conference record and recent win over Citadel. We need to bring the A game.

http://www.etsubucs.com/mbasketball/new ... del-70-59/ ETSU apparently had some problems with Citadel's zone.

Wofford has never had very much success against ETSU. They are traditionally a very strong team and they have always been a thorn in our side. I remember quite a few ugly blowouts at their hands. But we haven't played them since 2005, and a lot has changed with the Wofford men's basketball program since then. Hopefully the "new" Terriers will have better results against the Bucs. ETSU has a couple of high scoring sharpshooters in Rashawn Rembert and Jalen Riley. These guys can absolutely rain 3s and put up a bunch a points in a hurry. Much like Cochran, they can carry their team when they're hot. Our defense will really have to keep a hand in those guys' faces and do all they can to contain them. But ESTU is not very big at all. In fact, they have one of the smallest teams in D-1 if you look at effective height. So we will have a height advantage in this game. Hopefully we can take advantage of that and get the ball into the paint for some easy baskets. That should definitely be part of our game plan. I'd love to see Justin Gordan, CJ Neumann, Lee Skinner, and Cam Jackson have some good scoring and rebound numbers tomorrow night. Go Terriers!

I think ETSU is a solid team, but like many teams in the Socon, very inconsistent. I think we should be favored.

Chase them off the line and force them to settle for long twos, rebound well on both ends of the floor and run our offense (i.e. don't settle for jump shots) and we should be alright. It's no surprise that we've started playing more efficiently on offense when we throw it into the paint for high percentage shots, thereby softening up the perimeter defense and allowing our perimeter players like Cochran, Collins & Garcia open looks for 3. Our offense works best from the inside out like that so we must establish a post presence tomorrow, given our height advantage.

http://talkinterriers.blogspot.com/2015 ... t-for.html A little something.

Did Garcia just aggravate the ankle on Thursday? Saw him on trainer's table at one point in the second half. Know he's not 100%, but was good to see him getting back out there.

ETSU can really shoot it, esp. from 3-pt. http://woffordterriers.com/news/2015/1/ ... ath=mbball

I am looking forward to being back in the BenJo tonight to see the student section. The team seems to really be responding to their support.

Hopefully it'll be a good turnout tonight. It's hard to say, but I honestly don't expect it to be as good as Furman/Iona because it hasn't been promoed the same way but I could always be wrong.

I am home sick watching online. Wofford up 30-23 at the half in a very tough game with some great defense being played on both sides. Neither team is shooting very well. Our advantage in the post has made a difference. The refs are calling a lot of fouls on both teams. It looks like a great crowd tonight.

30-23 at the half. We've done a good job of keeping Riley & Rembert under control but must continue that in the 2nd half. Keep pounding the offensive boards- Gordon did very well at that in the 1st half, had 4 or 5 OReb. Keep up the lock-down defense you short haired dogs!

I don't think Karl Cochran scored at all in the first half. He shot two airballs, But we still lead it by 7 on the strength of great play from Gordan and Skinner. If we could get Karl going in the second half then look out!

As I tweeted to Todd Shannesy at the half, it had to be devastating to ETSU to down 7 at the half with Cohran having not scored. This is like the Iraq war-hammer them to soften them up and then bring in the big guns. Great defense again. Watching the other scores there are two things apparent. First, Samford is getting to be a force, and we are glad to be through with them. Second- UNCG is a big unknown. They went down to Chatty and played them tough tonight, losing by 9 or so. Mercer has to play Chatty on Thursday and then come to play us Saturday. We need to play smart on Thursday at UNCG, and bring it back home Saturday and hope the community turns out. Students will be gone, unless there is a concerted effort to get them back Saturday for the game.

This is a great example of how you have to keep your concentration and do your job.

Video stream lost late, but held on to win 72-64 in a tough last five minutes.

Wow did they make us sweat. Visions of The Citadel were dancing in my head. We just couldn't handle their press. But we were able to hang on for a hard fought victory. We get these guys again at their place in ten days, and they will probably be pressing when we get off the bus. It is going to be very tough. I was disappointed to lose the internet feed at crunch time and have to turn on my radio, but I guess stuff happens.
