Eric Garcia Injury

Evidently Eric Garcia had surgery for a broken jaw as soon as he returned home to Colorado. That is a fairly common basketball injury, but very debilitating in so many ways. He has to learn to live with a wired jaw and probably play with a protective mask. Eric has been such a key player to the Wofford team. As he adjusts to the injury and its nuances we wish him the best. He's a warrior, and will be back and tougher than ever.

I remember when CJ Neumann broke his jaw a couple of years ago. He played a good bit and was very effective. I'm sure coach will be very careful with Garcia. We need him down the stretch. I hate he will probably not play against Duke. I'm sure he was dreaming of the chance to play against them in Cameron. Hope they just go in there and enjoy the experience, play their guts out without any pressure. Who knows, if Karl gets hot and Spencer and Gordon have the game of their lives we may keep it close. Not expecting a miracle but every now and then they happen in college basketball. Good luck short haired dogs!!

Anyone know how long Garcia will be out? I'm assuming he'll miss the Duke game but are we expecting him to miss conference games as well?

an update. His jaw is wired shut and the challenge now is to make sure he gets enough fluids and the proper nourishment

As long as a Terrier is alive, he's fighting. Never gives up, never gives in, never backs down. Eric Garcia is the epitome of a short haired dog.

True, unless it's our football team playing in Paladin Stadium.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Touche. Tough to argue that. But I was there in 2007 and witnessed one of the most beautiful sights a Wofford fan can see; Paladin fans filing out quietly throughout the third quarter.
