What do we know about the team from the great metropolis of Clinton? Looking at their results (3-3), they haven't exactly built much of a resume yet...some big losses against schools that aren't perennial hoops powerhouses (American, Morehead St. & La Tech) and 3 lopsided wins against far inferior competition (Toccoa Falls, Piedmont, Bob Jones U). Not really sure what to expect?

I plan on being there. And of course Darris Nichols is now coaching at LA Tech, so I am sure we have an outstanding scouting report

IF we come to play this should be an easy victory at home.

67-45 win. Finished strong, esp. on defense.

We won by 20+ despite a poor shooting night (40% from the floor and 5-12 from the line). Defense was key. The play of Jaylen Allen off the bench (a career high 16 points) was a nice highlight.

it wasn't very pretty for sure, but the much better team finally pulled away down the stretch.
It was also cool to see Karl get 1500 points, 500 rebounds and 250 assists and then to see Robert MIckle (81-85) honored at halftime for being the only other player in program history to do the same.
Note: Karl is also about 20 steals away from 200. Just amazing.

Robert is and was a classy guy. Of course, what do you expect from the class of 1985?

It is not very often Karl has trouble with an opposing player on both ends but PC's Downing gave him trouble. Downing is the real deal. Started his career at Davy. Would look good in old gold and black.

Huh...how and why would you ever go to PC from Davy?

Our guys got it done, but it wasn't their best work. It was probably hard to get up for PC, after the 5 game run and lots of travels. I just personally am not a fan of an offense that is almost exclusively based upon three point shots-but then I admit to being old school. Wofford was my one bright moment in a night of disappointments, with losses by UNC, the Spurs and Wisc. We are in a lull that will be followed by a whirl in the last couple of weeks of the year. Our guys need the time to do their work in the classroom and finish out the semester; then they can concentrate on some critical games before entering the conference season.

I thought we played well. We started hot shooting, but cooled off as the night progressed. We won by 22 and you can't ask much more out of a team such as ours.

I think what makes us better than most mid majors is our depth on the bench. In the last few games we've pulled away or pulled closer in the second half, particularly in the last 10 minutes (PC, W&M, Iona, etc)

I seem to remember Robert Mickle being a rather uncanny scorer around the basket -- quick and able to score from funky angles. Almost like Noah Dahlman. An inch shorter and not quite as muscular, maybe.....and playing against a different level of competition.....but quite a scorer.

Here ya go, T-Dog 4. Doesn't answer your question but confirms Downing's short stay at Davy.
