A three OT thriller win for Sam Houston St. This afternoon's game will be another test for our guys. This appears to be a really good event for our guys as far as talent match-up. We will have to play well to win these next two games, and it will give the team just that much more time to jell and learn to work together in tough situations. Stanford had a pretty good win last night, so that shows up pretty well for us in the power ratings. As legs get a little more worn in a 3 in three days event, we will have to rely more on the bench. We aren't Ky, but we have 10 who can play and fall off very little. I can say a special thank you also to Mark and Thom and Van. If you have to be shut in, what a great way to spend 5-6 hours on a Saturday! Let's see...think my iPhone and headset will hold a charge for that long?

I think that it will work in our favor. we have good depth and great conditioning--I think we can win all of these games, and get back to Spartanburg and get another!--

South Dakota is getting a nasty introduction to Karl Cochran. 20 points in the first half. Terriers lead 40-27 at the break. He hit two 3's in the last 2 possessions before the buzzer.

Great end to the 1st half terriers. Cochran has showed up tonight with 20 points in the 1st half! Shots are falling tonight though and we're crashing the offensive boards, despite giving up a few inches to them. Let's finish off the 2nd half strong- Go Terriers!

Another good thing is South Dakota played three OTs yesterday. Their legs may start to get heavy in the second half, affecting their shooting and making a comeback tougher.

Another lesson learned. Frittered away a 21 point lead and hung on by a thread. These help, but don't make it easy on the fan base! Onto a noon game tomorrow. Never like a game that is dominated by just one scorer. Good for Karl, but would prefer a balanced scoring effort.

We almost blew this one. WHEW! Karl Cochran kept us from losing. I guess that's what conference POYs are supposed to do.

Sam Houston State will be tough tomorrow. We have to play a complete 40 minute game, which we really haven't done yet.

In our two games in Connecticut we are only 6 of 15 from the foul line as a team. We must be better.

Just some random observations:
I know we haven't seen a whole lot of him, but I think Cameron Jackson will end up being a really great forward at Wofford, a la Noah Dahlman, but bigger and more athletic.

Justin Gordan has scored double figures in three straight games now. He has really improved. With him, Cameron, and Savell next year our frontcourt is rally shaping up great for now and the future.

Eric Garcia is very Brad Loesing-esque with the ball. He will get ever better and make everyone else better too.

Jaylen Allen is becoming a three point marksmen off the bench. He can really light a spark and give a big lift to us off the bench.

Most importantly, we now look like we have the makings of a good program rather than just a good team for a year or two.

Finally, I hope that with the new arena and a very bright future that Mike Young will stick around a while.

I'm attending tomorrow's game vs. Sam Houston State. Not many times Wofford plays in New England; anyone else joining me?

Let's Go Terriers!
