Saw that last week. 12 players and 9 staffers interviewed for report. He looks like he is done. Glad they are out of the SoCon.

The Charleston newspaper has turned on him, so he has no chance. They can't figure out how the world's greatest university and awesomest basketball program could have hired this guy in the first place.

My only concern is if they look up I-26 for a new coach.

Ugh, good point.
Would be a great hire for them if they can deign their mighty elite program to be led by a coach from an inferior program.

Wouldn't happen. My guess is they'd go after John Calipari.

I would imagine that Bobby Cremins is very upset about this! This is the antithesis of the way he handled players.

Not very surprising really. Players never looked passionate and have been leaving that program left and right. I just heard they've cancelled their remaining summer hoops camps, too. My bet is they go after another yankee from the Carneseca/Kresse lineage.

And I had forgotten about Weideman leaving as a rising senior. Makes sense now.

Don't I recall that we recruited Weideman? He would have really been a good Terrier. He hurt us many times over the years. Then to transfer to Ga South-what a downward spiral.

Sounds like CofC's AD is a stand up guy being held back by weak leadership from above. This isn't the "good old days" and all this Bobby Knight stuff doesn't cut it anymore. Time to admit fault, can this joker and move forward. Undoubtably this has made their recruiting letters radioactive.

Ruckus is right, though. Decades of arrogance and self rightousness are coming home to roost.

The reason I think they don't can him is the money. They can't afford to buy out his contract and pay another coach as much if not more money.

The move to the CAA was a money-losing deal. They had done research that it would be a revenue-neutral deal if Davidson went with them, but a money-loser if Davidson did not. I don't know if adding mighty Elon would affect the cash flow, but Elon ain't Davidson.

Sounds like good business sense was overriden by ego.
