Recruiting 2015

Never too early to start a thread like this.
Andrew Brown, a Jr. 6-4 PG from Travelers Rest High. I know this kid very well and he is the real deal. Furman is already on him as are others. Coach TIm Johnson has been in touch him and is interested. He is long tall rangy and handles the ball on a string. Can play 1 through 3 and is very smooth. Great defensive player. Needs to shoot it a little more consistently which is his only weakness that I can tell. Takes the ball to the rim with ease.
Had a fantastic year as a Sophmore. Will be even better this year.

UPDATE: JR PG Andrew Brown was Region Player of the Year, Greenville County 3A POTY, All-State, Runner up SC 3A POTY, and TR High MVP off a team that won 25 games, went to state semis (losing to eventual state champs AC Flora), and had only 1 loss in their region . He averaged 1 rebound shy of double-double for the season. He has a 4.3 GPA and is in top 10 in his class. He now has offers from Furman, Cid, PC, ChasSo, and Army. He has interest from us, Tenn., ECU, and CoC. He is playing for Reebok Elite AAU team out of Cola and hit a game winner at buzzer in Biloxi 2 weeks ago in front of Roy Williams and host of other college coaches. His stock is rising.
Not sure where he wants to go but his parents want a strong business program for him. Coach Kerns called him last week to talk about an official visit after the NCAA dead period.

Mighty, mighty Devildog. Hope we get him. Great kid from a great family. Super handle for a 6ft4 kid. Can definitely play the point.

With Cochrane and Swinton graduating next year, we could use him, more likely at SG. Like his court awareness, ball handling, and ability to create his own shot.

With Garcia becoming "the man" at the point this year it really allows the coaches tremendous freedom in recruiting. We already know what we have coming for next year, and have one in the hopper for the year after that. MY and our great assistants are able to shoot a little higher than maybe even they thought. I never thought I would see the day that Wofford would be a consistent winner in basketball, but we are amazingly close. Maybe we'll do like Davidson....never mind!

Gamble was on that AC Flora team that beat TR in the state semis this year and ultimately won the state 3A championship. I watched him play TR in February. TR had a 6'7" kid (Quez Fisher) who is going to Anderson Univ. next year. Quite frankly, Gamble struggled defending Quez who is a good player but not the most physical post player. Although athletic with a nice touch and mid range jumper, Gamble needs to gain bulk and strength. I had heard he was already offered by us so I was excited to see him play. I came away non-plussed. Just my opinion though. He still has a bunch of basketball ahead of him to improve his skills and grow into his body.

With all the talent we will have on the 2014-15 team and probably another good record, we will be in a position to cherry-pick a really strong big man for 2015-16. That should be our primary focus.

TR PG Andrew Brown verbally committed to Furman last night. They were putting a ton of pressure on him to commit.
