Wofford basketball adds Geoff Shyatt to coaching staff

SPARTANBURG, SC – Wofford head men’s basketball coach Mike Young today announced that Geoff Shyatt has joined the Terrier coaching staff.

Shyatt is a 2006 graduate of Clemson University and is a former walk-on player for the Tigers.

“We’re very excited to have Geoff join our staff,” said Young. “For a young man, he has a great deal of experience and has had the benefit of growing up in a highly-competitive basketball atmosphere. I’m sure Geoff will be a great addition to our staff.”

Shyatt is the son of Larry Shyatt, currently an assistant coach at the University of Florida, the 2006 NCAA Division I basketball champion. Larry Shyatt is also a former head coach at Clemson. Geoff’s brother, Jeremy, is the director of basketball operations at East Carolina University.

Geoff was a three-year starter at Daniel High School in Clemson and also played AAU basketball on the same team as former North Carolina guard Raymond Felton, now with the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA.

Shyatt earned his degree from Clemson in sociology and communications.

He has extensive experience in working camps including those held at Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech, Georgia and South Carolina along with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers camp.
