Might be old news.

From The State:

Furman coach Davis leaves for Bearcats

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Furman basketball coach Larry Davis is heading to Cincinnati to become associate head coach to Mick Cronin.

Davis, who spent nine seasons at Furman, said Monday he was making the move for career and financial opportunities "that I had a difficult time turning down" at the Big East school.

He went 124-139 with the Paladins. His last three teams had winning records, including 15-13 this season.

Davis felt he accomplished what he was asked to do at Furman: "Make the program competitive, make sure we graduated our kids, and do it the right way."

Furman athletic director Gary Clark said Davis leaves the Paladins team in better shape than when he came. "We've generated some needed momentum due to his hard work and strong recruiting," Clark said.

Clark has no timetable to find Davis' replacement.

He made them competitive but he was never a good fit. I don't know about the "strong recruiting", but he certainly recruited internationally.
