Wofford @ Dayton

It's early, but with 12 left in the first half we are up 2, 10-8. Not as much fun listening to the Dayton announcers.

Wofford up 24-21 with 4 min left in the half. We are shooting really well from 3. Let's hope we can keep this up.

Listening to these jokesters on the radio makes me appreciate Hauser and Henson even more.

I love your updates, but you got a link for the game?

Letting it get away from us. 2 straight turnovers.

Wofford down 47-44 with 2:40 remaining.

Lost 52-49. We shot something like 33% from the free throw line. I still think this was promising. There were several times when it seemed like the Flyers were going to pull away, but we kept playing.

Free throws!! Aargh!!!!

But....Competing throughout games, playing hard, working together....those are things that can win games, particularly through the ups and downs of the conference season. Sounds like a promising start to the season.

A few observations from the box score:

*Tim Johnson 11pts, 13 reb. Great game.

*4-10 free throws. Uggh, hopefully we can improve. 4-10 doesn't hurt us nearly as bad as 8-20 would.

*9 Assists, 23 turnovers. We are very young, but have always prided ourselves on playing smart ball. This has to improve if we want to be an >.500 team.

Anyone know why Dahlman didn't start?

We only shot 10 free throws? I wonder how many of those misses were the front end of a one and one.

Good to see us win the rebounding catagory.

Free throw shooting is a historical problem at Wofford, kind of like pass defense in football is.

We always seem to play bigger out of conference teams tough, and even manage to knock one off most years. I'm much more concerned with our SoCon record. Our goal should be a winning conference record this year. We've never done that. But there's no reason we couldn't do it IF we play each conference game as hard and as intense as we do games against big schools. Unfortunately in the past we haven't done this all the time...that is on coaching, as I've harped on before. Her's to holding out hope that things will be different this year- without hope, you don't have much.
