We are down at the half. 40-29. Big run by App to end the first half.

I hope we are not still thinking about that Elon game. But Jesus, why is it that teams that have been struggling all of a sudden seem to find themselves again against us?

This always seems to be the case. It sounds like we are just out of control. Foul after foul so far in this half.

Down 14 with 8:25 remaining. Doesn't sound like we have much going for us tonight.

Wofford shot 7-29 in the 2nd half. It can easily get out of hand that way

This must not have been a very pretty scene. Hopegully we'll respond and play better next game.

This game is Exhibit A of my frustration with our basketball program. I know there will be off games, but we failed to even show up. I know some will hand out the normal excuses of no money, bad arena, etc but there is simply no excuse in my book for failing to be competitive against a team that quite frankly is not that good. The Elon loss was honorable; this was just plain embarrassing.

Actually, ASU is leading the North Division at 11-4 while Elon is 7-9 in the North and came into the game last Saturday after losing 6 straight.

Right now Wofford (7-8) is a game out of 5th (2 games in the loss column) and only 1/2 game ahead of CofC (6-8) and Elon (7-9). There are 5 SOCON games left.

Yes, App State is indeed a good team, but so is UNC-Greensboro, whom we have beaten twice this year. Boy, oh boy, I should have known this was coming. Here I was, thinking maybe this program was getting over the hump. Then we have some misfortune against Elon, and then we take that game with us up to Boone and play one of our poorest games of the year. It just seems to me like this team is very fragile and easily loses faith and confidence, and it has been for years. It doesn't take much to get it down, and when that happens, things spiral downhill very quickly for a period of time. The loss to Elon at home and then the debacle at Boone have NOTHING at all to do with lack of funding, resources, fewer scholarships, a subpar arena, or any of that other stuff we've been hearing as excuses. It has everything to do with team psyche, poor confidence, expecting the worse, and failure to just "get over it". And, I'm sorry to say, I feel that falls on the shoulders of our coaching staff. We have a game Thursday night at home against Gerogia Southern. We beat them at their place, but that was back when we were going good. We might get beat by 30 this time. Or we nmight come out and look like a contender and win. Your guess is as good as mine. This team's so inconsistant that it's impossible to make any kind of prediction about it. Only one thing's for sure- we will be average at best in our conference for all eternity until we can find a way to play our game consistently and forget about it when we get a tough break. And I think we need a fresh face on the sidelines to help bring that consistency about; to help us play the way we are capable of playing in practically every game. In short, we need a basketball equivalent of Mike Ayers. Here's hoping we find him one day.

A national search will be conducted in about 20 years when Coach Young retires.
