Looks like this weekend the kid we hosted was from TX, Nigel John, 6'10 and 260lbs. hard to miss likely for anyone that was at HC this weekend.

Home schooled, and played for smaller private school. Weak competition. Good stats. Has some larger schools recruiting him. Good mobility and coordination. Has potential to be a strong player for us, and would be a good fit. Appears he and family enjoyed their visit with us. Fingers crossed.

I saw that guy at the game but had no idea who he was. He is a big kid. I was hoping we just found a walk-on gem who was already on campus. He would definitely provide some serious size inside.

PJ Hall chose Clemson, as I would think most have seen by now. Not that I figured he was considering Wofford....though, too bad since his dad, Jerome, played for the T-Dogs (a really good player, by the way). Somewhat interesting that he didn't choose Mike Young's program at VT. I would think Mike was very hopeful. This might be good news for Keve Aluma, in terms of his prospects for playing time.

Anyway, the recruitment of Nigel John is intriguing to me. He's a huge kid. It would be great for Wofford to get him. Looks like some bigger schools have interest. But we got an on-campus visit, so if he had a good time and really connected with the coaches and players, you never know. Too bad the weather was nasty last weekend. Still, I'm hoping he enjoyed his trip to Spartanburg and can see himself spending four years here.

I'd be interested in any update about Pringle, too.

I imagine that our coaches are hoping to sign one of these big guys in the post this fall....and depending on how all that shakes out, might wait to see if prospects emerge in the spring.

I saw news that Nick Pringle has committed to come to Wofford. I don't know a whole lot about him, but seems like an up-and-coming post player from the SC lowcountry.

Welcome aboard!

this likely closes the class at Godwin, Klesmit, and Pringle.

If my math is right, we still would have one spot technically open (Hoover, DTL, Stumpe will leave but we usually have a 13th spot there if the right person is available to sign)

for being on the job 6 months, having to find 2019 class late and putting this one together with a late start, looks like a fantastic job by the current staff.

Pringle is excellent student; has great hops, touch, length, work ethic, and instinct; still growing and has exciting upside. Will be big contributor for us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HheNH1VIxHo

Godwin also looks like a nice find. Nice lefty stroke and can extend out to 3 point line. Looks to be a very solid versatile player.

I think it's shaping up to be a nice class.

Should another post player -- especially more of a wide-body that Godwin or Pringle -- want to join up, I imagine our staff might offer the opportunity. I know the coaches had been trying to sign another wing player, so if the right guy comes along, that could be an addition.

It might also make sense to hold a scholarship for the spring to further assess how things are taking shape in our program (the development of various players, etc.) and to see what players might be available (including transfers) at the end of the season.

Excellent class formally announced. We can have our eye out for one more later if a good fit. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/1 ... class.aspx
