The preseason all-conference team was 10 guys, so I guess that would make it 1st or 2nd team. But pretty good.

There are 3 guys from ETSU -- whoa.

I do think Wofford players like Trevor Stumpe and Chevy Goodwin and Storm Murphy may end up challenging for postseason honors.

etsu gets a little bias in their favor. same way last year when a couple guys who never played in the league made it. Williamson is a good player, but he hasn't done enough in the league yet to merit preseason honors.

I'd take Storm or Alex Hunter as points in his place at this point. Gibson from WCU had a great year for them last year. Parks if eligible would be a more deserving candidate if he can play this year.... and that's just point guard type guys alone.

I like what our coach said about players sticking around in the summer and working together. I think they're going to be eager to keep things going at a high level.

Any reports from preseason practice?

Some other teams are pointing to the loss of Fletch and Cam, and licking their chops. I think we will surprise some folks.

Interesting read. Glad to see the program getting real respect out there.

The video was well done, too. I liked the comments from Hoover. I think he and other upperclassmen are going to be hungry to show they can lead the way and win without Magee and Jackson -- and Aluma and Mike Young. We'll see how the attitude of the team takes shape as the season goes along, but I don't get the impression that these guys are content to savor past success and just let things slide this season.

Anyone with reports on how practices are going? Any new players standing out? Is it looking like David Appelgren may be able to give the team some good backup minutes to support the front line?

David is out probably through the start of conference play with a high ankle sprain. Likely down to one true post (Chevez, who has put on some weight and muscle) plus wings. will be a challenge against some of the teams/size we play early on especially if Chevez gets into any kind of foul trouble.

Safford is also out for the year.

Ouch, what is Safford's issue?

High ankle sprains no fun.

I still harbor some notions that Manning may provide some useful minutes for us. Hope Trevor and Messiah can pick up some of slack.

I kinda expected Safford to redshirt anyway especially as young as he is. Hopefully, Swedes heal more quickly than Americans...

I wouldn't expect to see Manning a lot unless no other options. we have been spoiled with good/bigger sized bigs recently in the conference, but Messiah is more the size of a number of really good ones. tim Johnson, skinner, sawvell, dahlman… all undersized but highly productive Terriers

Team photo up. No doubt about it, some size and heft there. https://woffordterriers.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball

Bigelow has been known as a shooter; one wonders with his size whether he had a chance to develop some inside presence during his RS year. Jones appears to have put on some muscle as well, and should really help inside.

Feel good about this group - so many bring something good to the table.

Terriers beat MD Eastern Shore 67-42 this evening; SNACK TIME! Hopefully, the first of several road wins.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

Finished strong, shot well ... need more rebounds and fewer turnovers. Several players, including Hollowell, Larson, and Goodwin, maturing.https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/1 ... ntral.aspx

Tonight's game was a tough one-no push over. Our bigs got on the board better, and when the game got tied in the second half Storm buried a couple of big shots.
