Novak qualified for the McKenzie Tour-the former Canadian Tour- for the season. In his first event he made the cut-finished low, but made his first cut as a pro. It will be fun to follow him as he grinds his way upward.

Andrew is 2 for 2 in made cuts. He is off to a great start as a pro. You have to learn to play in the events, and he seems to be getting a full education. With a great round today he can move up the money list.

Now 3 for 3 in cuts made. He hasn't finished high, yet, but learning to make the cut in a 156 player field is the first step. He is playing against some very good players and doing well. Keep knocking and the door will open.

Through round 2 of the four round Web.com Qualifying Finals in Arizona, Andrew is -7 after shooting 72-65. He is solidly in the hunt, tied for 23rd spot. There are 144 players who are all assured of some status on the tour next year, and this tournament will define the "pecking order" for entries. The higher you finish the more tournaments you are assured to play. Then, from next years' Web.com Tour a minimum of 25 will get full PGA Tour playing privileges. Great start for Andrew, playing with and against some really strong young players. If you want to follow here is the site: https://www.pgatour.com/webcom/leaderboard.html

Andrew evidently Monday qualified for the PGA Tour Honda Classic in the Palm Beach area this week. That's twice he has Monday qualified. It is an amazing feat. He shot 65 to claim a spot. That is T-2 out of a field of about 140 players for 4 spots!

Not sure if he went off the front or the back 9 but he shot 29!!! on the front nine with 5 birdies and an eagle. Nice work Andrew! Good luck in the Honda Classic. It only takes one good week to launch a career....

Actually I am down near the tournament this week-but playing in a golf event myself. I hope they both make the cut, and I will get over there Sunday.

Shot last round par on this tough course to finish 8 over for tournament, T57. Andrew has a check coming. Finished ahead of many name players, some of whom did not make the cut. (Probably the first time Wofford, with McGirt too, has had two make the cut and finish in a PGA event.)

Boulder, what does this mean for Andrew, in terms of his earning a place on tour, future tour opportunities, etc.? And did you make it over to see Andrew and William?

Since they neither played well in the third round I didn't make it over. For Andrew it is merely a morale boost. He had made a cut on the PGA Tour, and probably made some contacts with tournament chairmenn as well as manufacturers. The sad truth is that without status he has to keep scrambling for anything he can get. To have qualified for two events through Monday qualifying is pretty impressive, in that he has to be one of the top 4 in a field of over 120 to even get into an event. There are lots of mini tour events to try, as well as Monday qualifying for the Web.com tour and PGA Tour. It is a very rigged system in favor of those who have battled their way to the top, and they have no interest in making it easier for the "young Turks." To my knowledge Andrew has no status above what he started with this week that would help him get into an event. If any Wofford folks or friends of Andrew have pull with tournament chairmen on the Web.comTour or the PGA Tour you can certainly let them know about Andrew and pull whatever strings you may have. Those of you in Charleston, Charlotte and Greensboro on the PGA Tour and Greenville on the Web.com Tour take heed!
William is in the upper echelon (certainly not top) of the pecking order. First he had to scramble to get into events; then to make cuts; then to make good checks; and finally to win. We can hope that Andrew is able to make it to the level of William in the near future.
