At Beloit, in his last thirteen innings (two starts/wins) Matt has given up one run and struck out 20. Has chipped away all year on his ERA.

Recently promoted to Nashville, Oakland’s AAA team. He is 1-0 in two games there, pitching six scoreless innings in his win. Proud of Matt.

In last ten games, Matt's ERA is 2.58, and 3.76 on season. He has a 7-5 W-L. I expect him to move up from high A ball. His composure, control, and experience are his strong suits. Good size, strong arm. Hopefully he will get a higher look later this season or early next.

The reference to Maddox is interesting; Matt is somewhat similar, since like Maddox his fastball is not overwhelming but he has a good selection of pitches and excellent control. Interesting that Matt is working on a master’s at Wake Forest too.
