Bit of a slip today...T3 with 3 other golfers @-2; 2 behind Jason Day. Lots of golf tomorrow and Sunday.
Bounce back strong...

BTW...nice article and tremendous picture of William, Sarah and children with Jack Nicklaus in most recent, "Wofford Today."

William is -2 after three rounds, 3 off the lead. Hit a great putt on the last hole today which inexplicably stopped a half inch short. In good position.

Finished the B'stone Championship T7 @-2, 4 behind champion Dustin Johnson. What a week for Coastal Carolina...2 championships!
William earns important Fed Ex points and nice paycheck. On to the British Open...an outstanding accomplishment for our SHD on PGA Tour.
Happy 4th of July to all Terrier fans!

What a great tournament for William-again! Ho Hum, another $233,000 in the bank account, bringing him to around $3,100,000 for the PGA Tour year to date. To finish top ten in a field with only the best players in the world, on a course William hadn't played before, is spectacular. It solidifies his ranking in the top echelon of the tour, and shows that he belongs. This is the first of several limited field events he gets to play as a winner and high ranked player. He has capitalized well on the opportunity so far! Now he will go onto Scotland to prepare for his first Open Championship at Royal Troon GC, a course that should be very playable for William. After that it will be back to possibly play in the Canadian Open, which has been very good to him, before going to play in the PGA Championship at Baltusrol in NJ. He is so well entrenched in the FedEx Cup standings (currently #12) that he will surely go into the playoffs at the end of August in the top 20. Good play before the playoffs start will only help to move him farther up the ladder. His play all year has been good, but in the last month or so he truly has moved into rare air. It's a long way from Fairmont to having his family portrait made with Jack Nicklaus at Muirfield Village. He has done it the Wofford Way; by putting his nose to the stone and grinding. What a thrill for us to be able to watch and follow along.

That's very enticing! Even the favorites are getting pretty good numbers. Granted, it's whoever can string 4 rounds together that will win. It's higher than what I would have expected, but it is his first trip across the pond for this event.

If I were there I would drop a few quid on William! Royal Troon is a fairly straight forward course-not too tricky. William's times are fairly late, so let's hope the wind doesn't blow too hard or the rain become a burden. The players will go out and try to get as many birdies as possible before they turn back into the wind to finish. He is playing great golf, but it is his first trip to Europe. I hope he has fun, enjoys the adventure, and has a little luck.

Even on second round, after six holes; needs to shoot two under the rest of the round to make the cut.

William missed the cut in the cruelest of fashion. He played a great round and birdied #16 to get back to even par for the day and right on the cut line. However, he failed to get up and down for par on #17 and then couldn't make a needed birdie on #18 to make the cut. He really got the worst end of the draw as far as the weather was concerned. He made a couple of doubles that in the end really cost him. All in all a good showing in his first trip to Europe.

Too too bad, especially since the cut was projected at +2 and wound up being +4. But the experience will serve him well.
