Another made cut this week. -3 after two rounds and well within the cut line. Keep grinding and it will happen.

Ironically he finished T17th and lost two spots on the FedEx list down to #35. The guys who moved ahead of him included Rory McIlory and Justin Rose He's getting into pretty tall cotton now, and the big money events are coming up. He still will have to qualify to get into the Open at Oakmont. He played great on the weekend with the exception of a couple of holes and a couple of putts. He has proven to himself that he can play Quail Hollow in any conditions.

William absolutely blew it out of the water today. After an even par 1st round, he shot 65 today, and is currently in 11th place, 5 back of the leader. Noted that the 2nd round is suspended due to weather, so there are some players still on the course. His round consisted of 5 birdies and an eagle. Couple more rounds like that this weekend and he could be hoisting some hardware.

That round today was interesting. He played solidly on the front nine, shooting three under. Then, after a birdie on #10 he made all pars until the 16th, where he made eagle. Then, after a solid par on the island hole, he made a great birdie on #18. That's a 3,3,3 finish, which is pretty solid. Tomorrow he will be tied for around 14th place with a late start. Hope he plays solidly the rest of the weekend.

Opening round 70 (-2) at Memorial Tourney in OH; 6 strokes off the lead. Make up ground during the weekend!

Had a great Friday round. Made a couple of bogeys coming home, or could have had the best round of the afternoon. Six under heading into the weekend. Looking for another strong finish. Then he has to go play 36 holes on Monday to try to qualify for the US Open at Oakmont in Pittsburg. William is a grinder, and as well as he is playing he may well make the Open this year. Pittsburg would love McGirt!

Just turned on the tube to see them interviewing co-leader William McGirt. Let it be.
