That's 20 under over the last 3 rounds! NO ONE is playing any better.

It appears we have a Terrier atop the leaderboard. William shot -4 today and is tied for 1st.

DESCRIPTION
In this edition of GolfTalkCentral, Mike Ritz and Charlie Rymer give us some background information on second-year PGA Tour player William McGirt, who is tied for the lead after the second round of the RBC Canadian Open.

There's a Wofford mention, and it was pronounced correctly by Rymer. (link is from my phone so hoe it works for everybody)

No more William. Forever more I will refer to him as Dirt McGirt! I certainly hope he he continues his first 2 rounds (and for that matter previous 6 rounds) performance with a few more low numbers, and dons the mantle with his first tour trophy.

-4 today and one shot behind the leader Garrigus (booooo long putter) going into Sunday. William got a little wild off the tee on the back 9 today but made a lot of big putts!

We were all wondering how he would respond to being in the final pairing, and he did great. Shot 66; made some great putts; seemed comfortable... He needs to get that driver straightened back out and put the foot on the gas. He's playing so well, but so is Garrigus. Keep your head down, "Dirt."

BTW, just read that William and wife (and fellow Terrier) Sarah are expecting their first child in January.

Not a bad effort by William but not quite enough. Finishes T2, one stroke back. A lot to build on!

HIs T-2 finish puts him 61st on the FedEx Cup list and assures him of making the playoffs. He will probably be near $1 million in earnings for the year. He makes the PGA at Kiawah, and knows where he will be next year. This really is a great spring board for the future. He has made progress step by step for the past number of years. He made great mental decisions in the last two days. I never saw him make a bad decision under pressure, and that is very hard to do. We can all be very proud of William "Dirt" McGirt- and very happy for he and his wife expecting their first child in February. What a great job, William.

Thanks for clarifying that about Kiawah, Boulder. Great news and I am definitely looking at the glass as half full.

This has to be great for his confidence and will help him the next time he has a chance to be in the hunt at the end, which hopefully will be soon. As he said in the post-match interview, this will free him up a little and let him go more aggressively for a few more pins.

http://williammcgirt.com/ A message sent to William at the contact section of this web page will be passed along to him. Or, send a note to ptpoppa@aol.com, which will we sent along to William.
