2018-19

Schedule is challenging but not as grueling as last year, with Clemson and Ga. Tech being the only clearly major opponents. Start with five tough away games. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/9 ... edule.aspx

We will have a competitive team in Coach Garrity's third season. With our young talent, including an excellent recruiting class, and if we can avoid undue injuries (hope Wanink's knee is back to 100%), we will have at least 8-10 players who can really play. Only one senior, eligibility wise.

We can expect serious improvement in quality and depth on both ends of the floor, inside and outside.

First practice. More depth this year and Wanink is back. I had a good feeling about the season after reading this article. Bayer is the only senior and there are ten underclassmen. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/9 ... ctice.aspx

Admittedly, the season is very young, and the coaches will develop their starting five based on what is learned in upcoming practices, including skill and chemistry. However, I will take a shot at a starting five: Wanink, Green, McDavid, Lutz and Tomlin.

It is very likely we will substitute liberally, and the good news is we have the talent and depth to keep fresh players in the game. It is more speculative to say, but earliest off the bench will be: Bayer, Booker, Atha, Pulanco, Cook, and Turner. Others on the roster are likely to get a good amount of playing time as well; this is a promising group.

Thoughts?

Green and Wanink given SoCon honors. Media and coaches polls which as usual mean almost nothing. Terriers have a good chance of doing much better. Just have to wait and see what happens. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/1 ... -team.aspx

They pick our team sixth or seventh, which is better than past years. However, I think we will do better than that.

https://twitter.com/Wofford_WBB Trick or treat.

Jamari, I think, dunking a tennis ball. Chloe hitting 7-9 from three. Etc.

Admittedly GSU was not very good last year and appear to be the same this year. But still to win on the road by a comfortable margin has to be a good sign. A lot of Fr players played and contributed with Carman starting. I don't expect the Terriers necessarily to win more games this year although it could happen that way. Because this is a relatively young team and young players make mistakes. On the other hand young players learn to correct their mistakes. However I do expect that we will be more competitive and hopefully those close games that we lost last year will come out a W. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/1 ... thern.aspx

Wanink and McDavid were terrific; Jackie Carman apparently shows signs of being big time. Great to see Bayer get a little relief. Green getting a chance to show her stellar versatility, with some of the pressure off. Very exciting win. So many more weapons with this group. Watch out for these gals!

At Clemson tomorrow at 7, on tv.

Our ladies led for the entire first half except for the last few seconds. It was closer than the score indicated. And the game was tied either late in the 3rd or in the 4th period. Go Terriers !!!! https://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/1 ... emson.aspx

Biggest reason for the loss was very uncharacteristic 22 TO's, including 12 by Green. Plus they shot 22 FTs and we shot only 9. We should gain a lot of confidence from this close loss.
