Three Frosh -Tomlin, Turner, and Lutz - were tough, and Wanink had her usual steady aim. Only eight played, which is dicey but enough.

No matter the outcome of the last two road games and the tournament, Jimmy Garrity has done a whale of a job for this team and should be in the running for SoCon coach of the year in my estimation. Despite all the injuries we have still managed to have one of our best seasons ever as a D1 program and show remarkable improvement. The three key freshman Lawdog mentioned will keep getting better, Jackie Carmen, another excellent freshman before her injury, will be back, and the player of the year from Indiana Lily Hatten will be here next year. Oh, and Wanink will be back! The future is very bright!

Oh, and anytime you can take down the Purple Pukes in ANY sport (or any other event for that matter), it’s fantastic! WE got Furman twice today so it was a glorious day!

Got killed on the boards and poor D against a mediocre Samford team. Disappointing.https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/2 ... tball.aspx

Our game just doesn’t seem to travel. We can never truly get over the hump until we can play with the same energy on the road as we do at home.

Ladies lose close away game in season finale to first place Mercer. Rebounded very well but shot poorly. Need to win one or two in tourney. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/3 ... 65-59.aspx

Mercer’s ladies went undefeated in the SoCon , just as our men did. But we gave them two very close games. If a few more shots would have dropped for us we could have pulled the upset today. I am excited for the future of this program. We are the 5th seed in the tourney and will face ETSU. Get by the Lady Bucs and we likely get one more shot at Mercer. This team has the talent and ability to make. Run or even win the SoCon tourney.

This was a huge win for this program...our first postseason win in 7 years! Congrats to the ladies! Tomorrow at 11am we will most likely face top-seeded Mercer for a berth in the SoCon championship! Mercer is unbeaten in the SoCon but two of their very closest games have been against the Lady Terriers...we have the talent to beat them!

https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/3 ... 75-66.aspx We rebounded effectively and hit the 3 ball. Guts. Let’s keep this rolling.

Women went down today to a very good Mercer team.We hung in there in the first half but did not shoot well the entire game and Mercer shot the lights out in the 2nd half to pull away. It was a great season for the ladies despite several injuries again. I think the future is bright going forward. Coach Garrity is doing a fine job and will continue to recruit for what he needs. I am optimistic for what lies ahead next year and beyond.

Thanks Atldog. We outrebounded them, so the effort was there, but really had a poor day shooting the ball.https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/3 ... semis.aspx

Considering the number of key injuries we had, we had a good season, finishing with a winning record. Our girls competed well and have earned a ton of respect. No quit in’em. Most importantly, they like each other, and their coach, and are having a positive experience. We lose only Marissa Bayer, who has been a mensch through it all ... thank you! If we can be healthy next year, with our experience and talent, including one excellent recruit, we should be very competitive with about anyone we play and have a significantly better record. Tight lines, bright skies!

I agree. Future is very bright. Here is just an example of our bright future. https://twitter.com/Wofford_WBB/status/ ... 3235567623. Who can guard that ?? I doubt anybody in the SoCon. Lutz who is a FR this year. She will only get better. And there are others who are just as capable and of course we still have Chloe. assuming she is not forgoing her red shirt senior year. I hope she is returning but I would not blame her if she did not.
