Krocker propels Pats

All Ashley Krocker has to do for athletic inspiration is walk by Lake Brantley's sports facilities.

The Patriots' football team will play in a state semifinal against Boone tomorrow, the volleyball team won districts for the first time in 18 years and the boys basketball team is holding its own without starter Mitch McGrath, also a football player. "We saw how everybody else has been doing and it makes us want to be just as good," said Krocker, a senior forward for the girls basketball team. "We want the same recognition they get." She got that started last week when she combined for 41 points to down Countryside and Lake Mary last week. Krocker, a 6-foot-1 forward, will play for Wofford College in South Carolina next year.

We should pay more attention to the women's team- they're 4-2, with only one bad loss to W.Va. and a close loss to Wake Forest.

They work just as hard on their academics and their game as the men's team, and currently have a better record.

We should support them with some attendance this year. I haven't done this in the past, but will make an effort to attend some of their games this year.

Edgar Farmer has turned your women's program around. They play hard and smart and get the most out of their talent. They'll improve on last season's mark of 3 conference wins.
