Next four games at home, including Mercer who just beat UNC. Hope we can get a win or two.

Beat a decent N. Fla. team, well done! Our D and rebounding were very solid. http://woffordterriers.com/boxscore.asp ... ll&id=4054

I understand Chloe may get a medical redshirt and thus have two years of eligibility left.

Maybe we have turned a corner but IMHO one important thing now is that the girls have to play without Wanink their leader and best player. Of course it is not good at all that she is out and cannot play for a while and I assume the rest of this season. So the rest of the team have to figure out how to play their best without Wanink. With Wanink they could rely one her to do a lot of things that they did not have to do. So even though it is bad to be without Wanink, there is a silver lining to this and that is that the other players are learning new skills and/or improving their existing skills to be better players and a better team. So as a result next year should be a much improved year because of the other players will have improved skills and they will have Wanink back. And maybe this year will be a much better year than expected. I sure hope so.

With the injuries both last season and this one it has to be very frustrating for our players and staff. They will just have to keep pounding and plodding through and try to gut out some wins.

Beat a good Samford team 58-46 for first conference win; only six turnovers, nine steals. Lambdin had her best game. Playing well together and getting some leadership. Freshman Green is getting more comfortable and settling into the college game. The players really appear to work at it and to care. Improve to 7-9.

Six TOs for the entire game but four were committed in the first 20 mins. So the lady Terriers committed only 2 TOs in the second half. Wow !! when there were games in the past where they would have 2 TOs in a much shorter period of time. That is in itself a big improvement. Maybe the lady Terriers have turned a corner. Not enough to challenge for the SoCon crown but a step in the right direction and a significant one at that. If they continue to improve who knows what will happen. And with Wanink back for what 2 more years or 3 ?

Went to the game tonight. We played very disjointedly for the first 2 1/2 quarters and got down by 13. Then Jamari McDavid came in and almost singlehandedly brought us back from 13 down to tie it. In the the fourth quarter we returned to our earlier ways and lost by about 15. UNCG appears to have a little more talent, especially Soliman (who is clearly their best player and whom we did not guard well enough, along with their other 3 point shooters); on the other hand, they are beatable and maybe we will get them in Sparkle City, where we tend to play better. Booker and Green also did some good things; the rest pretty much had an off night. We got killed on the boards. UNCG now 7-11 and Wofford now 7-10.

We have several players who are promising, and a couple who clearly are not, and a couple who could go either way. With next year's recruiting class, we should be improved and have a chance to compete well in the league. We have a chance still to win our share of remaining games this year, but the team can be very inconsistent, especially without Wanink. Wanink was on the bench and has a brace on her leg; I hope her situation is one from which she will fully recover.

Bayer and Green led a late comeback as we won at WCU to improve to 8-10. Only 8 to’s. http://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/1/ ... olina.aspx

Next four at the Mister.

Against 8-5 Brevard, started out 25-0; currently 36-7, first half. We needed this one.

Won by 39. We were 27-30 from the line, but shot poorly from the field; 8 to's. Brevard took zero free throws! I have never seen such a FT disparity. Confidence builder.

Our layups and other shooting up close need major improvement; looks like we are missing 2/3 of them.

Thanks TV, for getting the event to ESPN. Amazing.

Have you ever seen a game in which one team shot 30 free throws and the other team shot none? I think the reason was that the majority of Brevard’s shots were from the three-point line.
