Nine of next ten games will be on the road, against some good teams. Very challenging. Chins up.

Record at 4-3 after beating NCCU. Cannot let up, but rather must keep improving.

Pinholster had double double, including 14 rebounds. Wanink almost also. http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2016/ ... ntral.aspx

Watch tomorrow's (Monday's) game v. Coastal ... live 6 p.m. at the above link.

We beat a pretty good Coastal Carolina team tonight, 67-62. This is our first win ever against them ... we were 0-9 all time until tonight.

From the part I watched, we played with poise and confidence.

Maybe I should keep quiet until conference play, but the team seems much improved. The coaching change seems to have made a difference for the program.

Most consecutive home wins (6) in the D1 era.

Next six (tough) games are on the road.

It is fun to follow this team and see the transition. They are having fun and playing to win. Their success is going to be contagious, and, with the opening of the JRIS next year we can expect it to only get better.

True true. Nice away victory. Can't let up, and I don't think they will.

They have a player or two with injury issues.

Sort of a messy game. However, we dominated the glass and finished strongly. Wanink is a really nice player. Good teamwork. No quit in this team. http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2016/ ... thern.aspx

It's a long season and we've seen the ladies produce a good first half of the season before only to see them slide after the Christmas break. However, I sense things are different now. I see a team that is fighting for the win. I have said this before; the coach matters. I think this coach has them believing in winning, not just playing. There is a difference. Time will tell, but I am hopeful for good results and an improving program.

In virtual obscurity our girls hammered Kennesaw St this afternoon by about 30. It was as if our ladies were giving a virtual course in how to play the game. They played defense well; blocked out well to rebound; and moved the ball around to the open player to score. The bench got a lot of good minutes, especially near the end. They have reached 9 wins before conference play for the FIRST TIME EVER! If I were the parent of one of our players I would be estatic that my daughter chose Wofford. They are obviously having a ball playing together and being on that team. Their enthusiasm after the games is fun to see when they post the clips. Our girls were chosen to finish near the bottom of the league, and who knows where it will go. However, if they keep on the track they are presently following they are definitely going to be a team that is in the mix. They are fun to watch.
