Assistant coach shakeup; at least one left to go to N. Fla. (Associate Head Coach Ridgill, Wofford alum/former player, http://www.unfospreys.com/coaches.aspx? ... ath=wbball), two new ones hired. http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2015/ ... ath=wbball

Query whether the problem with this perennially underachieving program is at the assistant coach level.

I don't think the problem has been solved. 2015-16 Wofford Women's Basketball: Old coach, old era. Nothing will change. Wofford will fire an underachieving professor very quickly, but a head basketball coach who is obviously not qualified for his job is allowed to stay this long? Talk about a double standard!

With almost all starters (four seniors and four juniors) returning, this has to be the year when this program steps it up. I hope it does, but I must say there has been little or no progress in performance of the team or its recruits in recent years. A player, and team chemistry, should get better; ours do not seem to. Although fully funded, this team has generally been dreadful. Basketball (like our men's team) can be a showcase at a small school like ours, and this program should be and can be made attractive to lady players throughout the country.

I hope I am wrong, but I think I have seen this movie before.

Volleyball is showing progress this season with a new coach. I think women's basketball could do the same thing. The program needs new leadership. It has been said that the very definition of insanity is doing things the same way and expecting a different result. And how can we attract the best possible recruits if the program never shows any positive growth? I'm sure Edgar Farmer is a great guy, and nothing against the girls we have on the team now as I am sure they are wonderful young women, but Farmer has not proven himself to be a very effective coach or recruiter in his many years at Wofford.

The team is predicted to finish last. With the team's track record, you can't blame anyone for thinking that. I hope we can do better, but I'm not holding my breath.

Seven of our top eight players from last year are returning, all seniors and juniors. Not one picked on the preseason ten-player all-conference team.

Opening game: down 45-15 at half, lost by 44. If only I were surprised.

I watched a little of this. Weak opponent. Blakeney, the transfer, was very good, as was Waning, the freshman from Wisconsin; Fleming had one of her best games in four years (except for her 5 TO's); Walker shows promise. Sixteen turnovers is low for us.

Ladies shoot 57% from three-point range to beat Radford and improve to 4-7. http://woffordterriers.com/news/2015/12 ... 51052.aspx

Give the ladies credit. Nice win. Started 1-7, up to 5-8. Playing better as a team, turnovers way down, and Kentra Washington and a couple more are showing the way lately. Keep it up.

Moment of truth today, at 6 on SoCon Digital Network, against Chatt. Chatt has beaten some good teams, but also been blown out several times. Perhaps we can play them a better, smarter game today than we usually do.

We hung tough until the fourth quarter, losing by 13. We were 0-18 from three-point line. http://woffordterriers.com/boxscore.asp ... ll&id=3321
