Looks like another long season for this bunch. You've got to wonder why a coaching change is not made. I think it's mainly due to apathy on the part of the athletic department. Sometimes I wonder if the only reason Wofford even has women's sports is because Title IX forces them to. Every women's sport on campus is below mediocre. I think they are all fully funded, so lack of schollies is not the reason. But SOMETHING is lacking, though I can't put my finger on exactly what. My guess is poor coaches and a need for better recruiting. I realize women's sports are not revenue generating and are not nearly as popular as men's sports. But just from a pride standpoint I'd like to see Wofford try a little harder and do a little better with women's sports. Young ladies work, practice, and play just as hard as the men. They deserve it.

In my opinion, Women's Basketball is not a "mature" sport. There is still a lack in numbers of top talent. As a result, in college basketball, there are a handful of great teams and a lot of mediocre and weak teams. Once you get past UConn, Tennessee, Stanford, etc., there is a tremendous drop off.

I think our resources would be better spent on a softball team or (gasp) women's lacrosse team.

Politically, it would be impossible to drop women's basketball so it's not going to happen, but until the pool of talent expands, I don't expect a lot to change in the calibre of our program.

Walliver, I respectfully cannot agree. We offer the same number of schollies, and offer a more attractive school and opportunity, as compared to schools who whip us year in and year out. When we get a talented player, she does not improve and the team gets no more cohesive or efficient. This team has been the perennial cellar dweller for way too long. The lady scholar athletes deserve better. Nice to get a win, but the jury is still out for sure.

That was very true 20 years ago, somewhat true 10 years ago, but the gap has closed substantially. You can be a SoCon team and compete with non-All Americans. You mentioned Tennessee and Stanford. We, Chattanooga, beat them both this year and have beaten Tennessee two of the last three times. Yet, none of our girls were All American in high school, nor were they even recruited by the power conferences. Coaching. Yes, coaching does matter.

The difference between programs is how much $$$ they put behind it.

Some programs don't support their WBB and that explains the 90-33 sort of games

Maybe the new arena will end up helping this program some. But we need a new coach. EF has had plenty of opportunities. Our ladies have been thoroughly embarrassed in two SoCon games. We are like a D-2 team playing in a D-1 conference out there. A change is overdue. Maybe a new coach, along with the upcoming new arena, can give this program the fresh start they need. And it IS possible to have some success at Wofford in women's hoops. There is precedence for it. Remember Jenny Nett? Coach David Graves? We were quite respectable with them.

Hey, the team has won back to back conference games! I bet it's been a while since that has happened! Granted, neither of the teams they beat (UNCG, WCU) have any confernce wins and this is not nearly enough to change me wanting Edgar Farmer's head, but at least it's something positive for the ladies.

Terriers were down to WCU at their place by 19 points or so and came back to win. Terriers as usual never gave up.

No Terriers on any first, second, or third SoCon all-conference teams, or all-freshman team.
