2013 Season

Apparently we have four pretty nice recruits for this season. Two are over six feet and look especially promising. Kentra Washington from Mauldin was top 10 in S.C. Grayson Pinholster from Florida also looks promising in the post. Maria Corella from Pinewood Prep is a good 5-10 shooter, and Sarah Traynor from Ontario looks like a scrappy PG. All are good students. At this point, with all the returning freshmen who played a lot, team looks talented and young.

http://www.soconsports.com/ViewArticle. ... EM_ID=4000 Media picked ladies last. I think they will do better than that; they are young, but many of the youngsters had a lot of PT last year and have some talent. Four promising freshman recruits too.

Let's hope that the shooting percentage increases dramatically and quickly. 21% will not win many games. Next game is at home which should help.

Hopefully the ladies have turned the corner. Only time will tell. Against GSU they trailed 59-33 but came roaring back and lost by 79-70. Today they led at the half against Marshall and were in it until the last minute or so. Go Terriers !!!!! =D> =D> =D>

This program is never going to turn the corner as long as they have the current head coach. Only a fool would not know that. Since I do not think there are too many fools at Wofford, I can only draw one conclusion. That is that they do not deem winning at all important for this program.

http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2013/ ... ath=wbball This is a game we could and should have won. 24 turnovers (to Howard's 13) is horrible. Ashton Fleming played well.

The concern is, do we have a new crop of promising freshmen already learning the losing ways of Wofford women's basketball? Going into the SoCon schedule, we have the worst record in the league. We owe our young ladies the type of leadership that will give them a chance to succeed and be proud of their team effort. No excuse for women's basketball to be this unsuccessful, year in and year out.

Unfortunately the talent on this team is better than their record and it has not been realized. This happens year after year. Every year the Lady Terriers have enough talent on the floor to win games. If you look at the players they have recruited over the past few years you would see a group of proven and skillful ladies who have winning pedigrees. For the last few years they have started with promise and faltered after the Christmas break. This year it is eve worse - they never even started. I've watched this year's team play and I believe the talent is there in the individual players. Something or someone has to progress the individual talents to a unified and directed effort to win.

The problem is the coach. Make a change there, and the team gets better. Remember when we had David Graves? He won some games and the program was not a running punchline with him. Too bad he left.
