Women's Soccer 2017

Coming off a disastrous 2-16 season (winless in conference), in which the team scored a total of two goals in its last twelve games, there is serious need for dramatic improvement. The small recruiting class for next year also does not appear impressive. Perhaps the recent addition of an experienced new assistant (former head) coach, hopefully with some recruiting and coaching skills, will stir things up! The women's program is careening downhill and is miles behind the men's. With as many talented and experienced women high school soccer players as there are, especially in the southeast, we should be getting our share and doing much better than this.

With many juniors and, now, nine talented freshmen, things may be looking up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB-6e7L ... e=youtu.be

I watched our team last night playing UNCG. After a big comeback and scoring by Younginer we battled them to a 3-3 draw in regulation and through the first OT before giving up the winning goal in the second OT. It was a strong effort by our ladies. There is no reason Wofford can't become the best Women's Soccer team in the SoCon.

After beating ETSU two weeks ago 3-0, we lost to them in the first round of the tourney 5-0; outscored 12-0 in our last four games to close out a mediocre 2-6-1 conference record.

We had a first team all conference selection. However, Furman had six and Samford had four. What do these teams know or do that we don't?

Also disappointing that virtually every other team has at least one on the all freshman team-except Wofford.
