Even though we lost some excellent players, prospects are very promising this season. It has been said before but bears repeating: no program we have has improved more dramatically in recent years than men's soccer, from mediocrity to being able to take the field against anyone in the country. Wow.

We lost to App State 3-1 in an exhibition match. I don't know how much concern that should cause since the game didn't count. We might have been doing some experimenting. And last season we started off slowly and hit our peak in conference play.

No need for alarm, we outplayed them until we experimented and gave everyone PT. Should be good.

Just watched the Winthrop game, which we won 3-0. We played well and our counter attack with Aurednik was a joy to watch on goals 2 & 3.

Also watched online and saw a pretty good game. Winthrop really pressed us in the first half, but our goal keeper made great saves. Defense kept them off balance. They outshot us 12-6, but ours were really great goals. This is a pretty good team. After this weekend we are on top of the Big South.

This is a very good win. Winthrop got us last year and they are historically very good. Aurednik is a beast. I am still baffled by that fifth place prognostication...what a joke!

Hard fought 2-2 tie at Davidson. Delayed by lightning, and finished after 11. 2-0-1 to start the season, and played a good Davidson team on the road.

An Aurednik header with less than five minutes to go in the match earned the tie. That guy is a beast!

Will someone just go ahead and give us the Big South trophy now? 3-0 so far in BS (how appropriate) and one tie in the A-10. Rolling...

A goal by Keaton Hinze 58 seconds into overtime gave the Terriers a 2-1 come from behind victory over USC Upstate tonight. A Kyle Nelson header tied the match 1-1 at 62:23 in the second half. Nestor Jarmillo assisted on both Terrier tallies. The Terriers are now 4-0-1 on the season. Next up is a trip to Raliegh to face the NC State Wolfpack...great opportunity fo the guys.

The Terriers surrender two early goals in the ninth and 12th minutes and cannot recover, losing 2-1 to NC State. Nestor Jarmillo scored the Terrier goal on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. The stats were very even. Shots were 12-12' corner kicks were 4-3 Wolfpack. So Wofford went toe to toe with a Top 20 team tonight , playing them pretty much even and and falling just short on the scoreboard... a valiant effort in the first loss of the season. The team is now 4-1-1. Next up is a home match with Charlotte at Synder Field at 7PM next Tuesday (9/22). This is the last match before conference play begins and we start to really make those people who picked us 5th place out of 6 SoCon teams look stupid.

Terriers close out the non-conference slate with a 1-0 win over a very good Charlotte team. Will Puckett scored the lone goal of the match in the 67th minute and the Terriers withstood some furious 49er attacking afterwards and held on for the win. Shots were 16-10 Charlotte. The Terries will take a 5-1-1 record into their first conference game next Tuesday night at 7 against ESTU at Synder Field.

Does anyone know if Snyder Field, after the renovations, is regulations size? I know for a long time we had a small field.
