I don't think so.

These guys never feel like they are out of a game. We have high quality guys but I think coaching is a big part of that too. I don't think some of our past teams with past coaches would have made a comeback like this.

Mercer tied us up with a goal in the 84th minute then scored in OT to beat us 2-1 today in Macon. A tough loss to be sure. But Mercer is a very good team, ranked 35th in the country. We will bounce back and be just fine.

I didn't get to watch, but I see the Terriers defeated VMI 3-1 tonight!

This was a "takin' care of business" type game. We were heavily favored, but you still have to go out on the field and execute. We did just that.

Another good win over the previously undefeated (in the conference) Furman team by a convincing 3-1 score in the rain AT Furman tonight. We are now on top of the Socon standings and no team is undefeated. In reading the standings it is interesting which schools play soccer, and most notable is that Samford does not. Anyone have an insight as to why that would be? It seems that after the big 3 (football, basketball and baseball) soccer would be the most likely to be played by all schools. There is a real potential for revenue in the future, and it is certainly a sport that kids follow these days.

I watched the second half. Furman threw everything they had at us, but we stayed cool. This team is good and a joy to watch. And thanks for some good Terrier news today!

boulder3m I think you would find that most schools who don't have a men's soccer program don't bc of Title IX. I have heard rumor that once Berson retires @ USC that they will drop men's soccer. I think they should take football out of the equation when doing the math for Title IX. It skews the numbers and hurts the other programs. The SEC would be one of the best if not the best conference for men's soccer in the country if they had the sport.

Lucky to get a tie with Mercer at home last night. We scored with 29 seconds left in the game on an "own goal," which actually was a pretty good shot that may have gone in had it not been headed in by a Mercer player. Only one home game left against our purple friends.

Mercer is a tough squad. A tie against them is not a bad result, though we could have really used the win.

A loss at ETSU probably eliminated us from winning the regular season title. We currently sit in a three way tie for third place with Mercer and ETSU at 3-3-1. I don't know how the tiebreakers would work at this point and it really doesn't matter anyway right now as there are still three more regular season games to be played and there will be a mad final scramble for seedings and home games in the SoCon tourney. So there is still a lot to play for. We have games against the two teams ahead of us. We have a road game at UNCG tomorrow night, who we previously lost to at home (they snapped our home winning streak). I'm sure our guys would love some payback. Then we welcome Furman, who leads the SoCon. We are the only team to beat them in conference play and we would LOVE a sweep! We probably can't overtake FU, but we can surely keep them from winning the title while we help our own seeding cause! Then we have a game at winless VMI to close the season, which we should win. We are still very capable of winning the SoCon tourney and going to the NCAA tourney!

Also- the ladies' team has been playing better lately. They are young team and should only get better.

Team suffered first shutout loss of season tonight 3-0 at UNC-G. We need to get our mo back so we can win the tourney and earn the bid.
