SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head Coach Ralph Polson has announced the addition of one more player to the 2011-12 roster. The addition will bring this year’s recruiting class to a total of seven players. Coach Polson is excited to welcome Tim Powers to the Terrier men’s soccer program.

Tim Powers is a forward from John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas. Powers originally played high school soccer at Alexander V. Humboldt Gymnasium in Schwcinfort, Germany before transferring to John Paul II High School for his senior year. This year he led the John Paul II High School men’s soccer team to a fourth place finish in the district and was selected to the 2010-11 All-District team. He finished his senior year with 18 goals and five assists and was the team’s captain. While living in Germany, Powers played for the JFG Werntal Kickers from 2008-10. He scored at a total of 28 goals in the two year span. Prior to playing with the Kickers, he played for the SG Ettleben club team from 2007-08 and tallied 35 goals. Powers is currently training with the Solar Soccer Club in Dallas, Texas. His father, Alex “Sasha” Powers was a graduate from Wofford College.

“We are extremely excited to have Tim join our team. He is originally from Germany and has recently been playing in the states out of Plano, Texas. Tim is an outstanding young man and a tremendous goal-scorer. We are excited to have his commitment to Wofford.” – Coach Polson
