There is now balance in the universe. This should have happened years ago. Now it's time for a certain #3 to hang in the JRIS, but that's a debate for another board.

Eric deserves every honor he receives. I think he was slighted by the Peyton Award voters and now glad he is being recognized. I think the FCS voters and those not familiar with the TO that we ran have no idea that EB was hit hard on every play he ran, regardless of whether he had the ball. The opposing team keyed on him every snap of every game, and he still averaged almost 200 yds per game in his last year. He stuffed it down the throats of some mighty powerful teams in his career. If anyone deserves recognition for what he did in a Wofford uniform it is Eric Breitenstein.
That being said, though, I still like the idea of players being awarded the right to wear special numbers after they have earned it. At the JRIS there probably should be a number of jerseys hanging, and perhaps for other sports as well.
What a celebration in Gibbs for EB on Sept 21!

Long past due. Congrats to Eric...and as he says, this is a testament to all the OL's that he ran behind while at Wofford!!
