Nate Woody to Army. I am assuming as DC? I guess things weren’t certain at GT after PJ retired. Good hire for Monken and Army!

I saw where Jay Bateman, DC at Army, left for the same job at UNC. Makes sense that Woody will be the new Army DC.

I also noticed that the Elon coach left for James Madison, leaving Elon right back where they were. That's a good move for him, because Elon is really in a difficult position. Being in the media market for Elon; they get virtually NO coverage. They are stuck between Greensboro and Chapel Hill with little or no ties outsdie of Burlington, and they chose to go to a league with no natural rivals. I noticed that they were touting the fact that Cignetti got them to the playoffs his two years (not mentioning that they lost both times to a Socon team). That he ran after only two years at Elon tells us that Elon is probably a good place for an up and coming coach to get a cup of coffee and move on.
Army, in the meantime, has a Wofford flavor as well as Ga Southern-with the Paul Johnson tree as well. They are the real deal, and I would think a place that good football players who are good students will consider more.

It needs reiterating that in 2012, a team with Nate Woody's defense (Wofford) and Monken's offense (GSU) would have beaten the Bison.

Also Shanesy said that Woody hadn't yet interviewed for the job yet yesterday

So that is not a done deal? Didn't realize that.

It appears to be a done deal, or, maybe to Louisville with Satterfield. GT has named a new defensive coach. Riase looking for a job, it appears. Wood?

Appears that due to his contract payout terms with GT Woody does not need to be in a hurry to take another job; he can weigh his options.

Shiel Wood is going to Georgia State to coach defense. Lets him stay in Atlanta area.

FYI only. The head coach at Valdosta State who I have been raving about for some time (Kerwin Bell) has taken the OC job at USF under Charlie Strong. A bit of a surprise to me because he has always been a head coach. I was expecting to see him as a head coach at a FBS program...….so it goes.....good luck coach!

Probably at least doubled his pay. Savvy long term move.

Agreed. Get entrenched in Florida football at the top level and you will thrive.
