The triple option

A good article on our bread and butter. Many former college defensive players say that the triple option, coached well and with reasonable talent, is the toughest to defend. Mentions Wofford's, and Brakefield's/Deberry's, success with it.

A good read, but I'm more surprised that Wofford is barely mentioned.

It's interesting that a team that first played the option in the 1960's and still plays a variation of that is only mentioned once, while Furman is mentioned several times. Especially since the Pukes run an offense from the Calhoun-DeBerry-Brakefield tree that started on Snyder Field.

Agree. The reporter just didn't do his homework. We know where it started and where it still is perfected.
