Having watched Chatty/ETSU yesterday it appears we just have to play our game and not deviate. Our defense is fully capable of stuffing their running game, but our pass defense will be tested. Chatty is big and strong, but this is not the old Chattanooga we knew. They may get there, but this team is very beatable.

Chattanooga has a great QB (Mississippi State transfer) and great wide receiver, but they have an absolutely horrendous run game.

Their defense is solid.

If we can score 24 in regulation, I like our chances to win.

I did not watch the Chatt/ETSU game. only listened to it and that was after our game ended. i got the impression from the announcers that ETSU had been harassing the Chatt QB effectively - sacks, hurries, etc - so much that he was regularly throwing the ball off balance or just having to scramble. So that implies that ETSU was able to get past their OL on a regular basis. But this is the same ETSU team that squeaked by VMI. Although I have to say that one of two things is true - 1) VMI has improved quite a bit since we played them or 2) ETSU, WCU and Mer did not play as well as expected against them. Could be that ETSU, WCU and Mer simply had a sub par day but it is unlikely that all three would have done so. One is possible but all three ?? Very unlikely. Conclusion : Chatt was undefeated going into the ETSU game but none of their games were blowouts (unless 34-14 is a blowout). All but one were close and their opponents were at best average. So while we cannot take Chatt lightly we should be able to get a W. Games are won at the LOS and since ETSU seemed like they won it against Chatt's OL our D should be able to do the same. But Chatt is known for their D and that may be the key to the game - whether our O can move the ball against their D. If so then the Terriers should come out with a W.

Since Mikel played only three games before his injury, isn’t he eligible for a redshirt?

yes, so long as he hadn't been redshirted before which I'm pretty sure he wasn't.

Horton may have two years of eligibility remaining, but his loss is huge to this team. Our defensive line is the absolute strength of this team. I am not saying that the loss of one player is devastating, but it is huge. We just have to use the tried and true Wofford way and say "next man up," but this one player was and is one of the best Wofford has on its football team.

We will have our hands full. Chatt is strong on D and turnover margin, and the passing game is stellar. Apparently well coached. We need to play our best.

Interesting article on the offensive line and "Shazam", or perhaps "the Amazing Zamfir."

A good radio show. The most recent one on Monday Oct 1. Trey McCray was on as well who had some interesting comments. https://wofford.leanplayer.com/past-events

IMHO the Chatt game will likely be a typical football game in that it will be won at the LOS. Although if you look at the stats for their game with ETSU, the team that controlled the game was not necessarily the winner. Chatt had twice the first downs. But the most glaring stat was turnovers. Chatt had 3 and they were crucial and decided the winner. The final score is what counts. http://www.espn.com/college-football/ma ... =401030252

Sure hated to lose Horton. Coming into this season, even with Vaughn's graduation, I felt like our defensive line would be a dominate force in the SoCon. But then we learned of Priester's academic troubles, and Horton's season was cut short in the third game. It just goes to show that at Wofford, and most FCS schools, position depth "is a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth." I really, really hope that Brown and Mangum can stay healthy.

Chatty will be tough (especially at home), and this game should be a clear indication of where WOF is in the SoCon pecking order. A win,, with a good performance on the road, will (should) get this teams focus centered on what's working and what's not. I'm still not sold on QB, RPO, TO, etc. I am sold on the defense though!.....Go Terriers!!!

I can't get it on TuneIn or Leansports. This has gotten to be pitiful. I wonder why they even bother.
