I hope you guys are correct! The Goal Line Club has almost $1,000 per TD this year, so I say "run it up."

...I'd love to see some of those speedsters get a shot at haulin' the ball. Speed (at any position) can get in the heads of the opposition real quick and I believe WOF has a load of it this year. Hope the coaching staff has a good plan in hand to showcase some of it....maybe even experiment with some trickery this week.....Go Terriers!![/quote]

I see that Sammy is playing FSU this week. FSU didn’t look too strong against Va Tech last week. Will be interested to see if Sammy can be competitive.

Just read a recent Article on the VMI football program. Insightful article and seems to shed some light on their agenda. Key points from the article...

-- Offensive Coordinator and Seven assistants left from last year
-- New Offensive Coordinator Brian Shepard wants to implement the Air Raid no huddle offense he learned under UK's Hal Mumme
-- Shepard's compares his system to the offense Texas Tech has implemented
-- VMI Head Coach wants to run triple option. We should expect to see to see Hybrid Air-Raid with RPO's
-- 3 significant transfers. Leading Rusher, Starting QB, and Sack leader at LB
-- 4 new LB replacements from last season.

sound like a lack of identity. Though an air raid would probably be an advantage for VMI over a TO, because there's already 3 teams that run a TO in the socon

Their QB left also... Hodges kid at Samford’ younger brother... Now at North AL... North AL is joining the Big South.

One big thing that I hope we get out of this game--besides a win, of course--is an opportunity to develop our depth, especially at positions like DL where we are thin. I am thinking specifically of the really talented true freshmen. With the NCAA's new redshirt rule, true freshmen can play in up to four games without losing a year of eligibility, so it would be great to get game experience for Weirick, VanCleave, Ball, Fuller, and some of the others. This could be a golden opportunity early in the season to get a sense of who among the freshmen might (or might not) be able to help us later during the conference grind.

Oak Grove or does it make more sense to save the last 1 or 2 games and hopefully use them in a playoff run. I am for the new rule but it will be interesting to see how coaches proceed with the new rule.

I agree Six-it should be quite a delimma for the coaching staff. If it were me I would probably want to get through these first three games before deciding on the freshmen. If you can wait and use the really capable but possible redshirts in key games late in the season...but then, how do you know how they will perform? Really interesting decision.
