Don't know that I have seen this anywhere but apparently Malik Rivera is heading to Georgia Tech as a graduate transfer.

Apparently Tech is thin at Safety so Malik could see some meaningful time on the field. He is obviously familiar with the system and will continue to get a top-level education at GT.

Congrats Malik and best of luck!

While we hate to lose any player, the opportunity to play at the highest level and continue an education is a great opportunity. All the best to Malik.

Academically, there wasn't much more he could have done here. Triple major already, time to move on! Wish him all the best.

Yep, agreed. It sucks to lose him and I'm sure we'll miss him, but this was obviously the best decision he could have made for his future. He got a Socon ring and played a great career here at Wofford and obviously killed it in the classroom. I hope he accomplishes everything he aims for at Georgia Tech.

Need to find some practical internships and/or joint grad programs so we can keep these guys for their 5th grad year.

You could argue that one of the measures indicating we recruit more than just athletes, but also people who want success outside of the playing field, is the number of players who forgo the fifth year. It's probably something that effects fall sports the most because you can pad a resume with another major (or two) with a full extra year as opposed to just a semester, as spring sport athletes do.
