Am not very up to speed on recruiting strategies--So, I am not sure if we are tendering more offers than in years past, or just being more public about what we are doing; or, if there is just more info out there about what we are doing, and on what everyone is doing--Somebody can probably enlighten me about the recruiting strategies; probably the new coaching staff is more in tune with 2018 recruiting because of the new head coach being part of the new young breed of the young guns--

We have definitely changed our recruiting strategies. While there is more info available on offers thanks to social media and recruiting websites like 247 sports, we have seen a distinct shift in our approach. Several of us have discussed it off the board. Call it what you will: more aggressive, broader, casting a bigger net; we are definitely trying to attract a number of players who in years past we may have not gone after so aggressively. I use the analogy of a surgical, isolated, rifle shot approach versus a broader more encompassing effort. A few years ago Ayers said we were going to recruit kids who wanted to be at Wofford. Clearly JC is thinking more expansively than that and knows he has a tradition, program, championships and education opportunity to sell. He is putting us more in the mix for higher profile guys who are being recruited by a number of schools. Time will tell if it works but I like it. It tells me he knows his success depends on who not what. Great players win games.

Thanks for that update Ruck, sounds like a plan. In the past, and hopefully in the future, our team was highly schooled and had a lot of confidence in what we ran, especially on offense; hopefully we will continue to be a well oiled machine, whatever changes we incorporate on either O or D. Let's keep playing AS A TEAM.

Coach Ayers was sort of like Bear Bryant: he could take his’n and beat your’n, then take your’n and beat his’n.

This is an interesting story. Two brothers - Cosmas Kwete a 3 star and Eloi Kwete a 2 star - from Zimbabwe that played rugby and now play football. They also have another brother - Oliver - who apparently plays football too but I have not seen where we have offered him. But we have offered Cosmas and Eloi. Eloi is 6'2" and 250 with a 40 time of 4.8. That is not blazing speed for his size but look at his highlights. He is quick and looks to me like he would be a good DE or maybe ILB. Cosmas is 6'3" and 210 but cannot find a 40 time for him. However he has the same quickness as Eloi. Both seem to be relentless with a high motor. I hope we get these guys. https://www.12news.com/article/sports/h ... /319500754
