Kalen Allen selected WCU. That puzzles me (though not nearly as much as Shugart to NGU). I thought Allen probably decommitted because an FBS school came knocking.

Barnes is committed.
Walker is a mixture of Stoddard and Long. Taller than our our usual FB; nice feet in the hole and then downhill with power. Good balance.strong;very physical. Offered him in camp last summer. Tailor made for us. New star on horizon. Will play at 220-230
I like Barnes; Long and athletic. Gets upfield to QB quickly. will likely be an OLB for us.
Fuller will get bigger; already has. Playmaker; tackling machine.
TJ Neal now in fold. Athlete.
Allen decommitted because Wood left.

Liking this class. Not as big as some classes but athletic in all positions.
Love Neal.
Need a TE and we should be done.

Have liked Fuller since the word go. The only reason he does not give 110% is that he only has 100% to give.

Isaiah Walker is promising. Could see him being a Terence Morris at LB.

I agree. I'm also concerned about the lack of a CB in this class. We redshirted one from last year, but that might be an issue with depth a few years down the road. I'd also like to see another QB.

Looks like another QB is being reported. QB Dre Yarbough of Greenwood High is being reported as committed by his HS. With his size and being listed as an athlete, would not surprise me if they model him after Gbesse

Final Verdict:

I don't think the administration's decision to delay hiring Conklin had too much of a negative impact. One or two decommits but really its a strong class.

5'8 is probably too short for a QB even for us, but RB/CB would be a natural fit. It might work as with Colvin: bring him in and see where he fits after he gets on campus and on the field. If he's a CB, I'm less worried about long term DB depth. I still want another QB and a TE.

Thinking about LBs, I'm OK with how things have shaken out. Last year, we were heavy on ILBs (Titus and Beckett) with only one OLB (Moore). Since we're losing one ILB to two OLBs, it makes sense that we'd be OLB heavy over ILB. Next year, we'll need more ILBs (as Hinton/Roundtree graduate, Wilsom becomes a SR, and Titus/Beckett become JRs). But the numbers at the LBs slots this year work (for me, at least).

I am told Yarborough will be slotted initially at CB and moved if need be. Can always put him in the slot/HB.
New uni combo coming out too. The Black pant curse will be tested. Haven’t worn them since CCU game in ‘07 when we lost at home late.

We actually wore them against Samford in 2009 and lost a hard fought game.

We were depleted by injury that year.

any idea when that uni combo comes out? pics?
