Now that NSD is nigh, some questions might be worth asking. What do we think we need tomorrow? How do we think we'll do? How do we like things so far?

I'm making two assumptions here: (1) no transfers (time will tell if we get as few transfers under Conklin as Ayers) and (2) that no news is good news for long time commits who didn't sign but didn't decommit either (i.e. Walker and Russo).

We have one QB but I think we need another (since we only have 2 scholarship QBs on roster now). We're very good at RB right now (2 RB and 1 FB), but we could potentially be great (depending on how Ifanse goes). We have one WR in Parker, so I'd like to see at least another WR and one TE. 3 OL seems about right to me given how OL heavy we've gone in the past couple of years. DL is good at 2 but I'd like a 3rd for long term depth (especially since we didn't redshirt any DLs last year). We have obvious needs at OLB and ILB (with only 1 OLB publicly in the boat and serious depth issues at both slots even *now* for the fall). DB seems good with 3 (1CB and 2 S) but I think we could use another CB for the future. P/K isn't a need now (with Carter and the FR kicker we redshirted) but we'll need a LS.

Thoughts? Projections? Concerns?

We rarely get transfers although when we do get them they often are good ones. I am a little concerned about decommits. The known ones as far as I know are Shamari Wingard, Johnny Fritz and Kalen Allen. So unless there are more that are unknown then decommits are not a serious issue. just a minor issue. I am hoping we will be surprised with some really impressive Wow type recruits that we do not know. And IMHO we already have some Wow ones already. More of them will be better

Here is my current list:
OL Quashon Greenlee (es)
DL Corey Prince (es)
FB Nate Walker
OL Al Hogan (es)
DL Elijah Ball (es)
OL Nick Russo
SS/OLB Randy Fuller (es)
RB Colby Wood (es)
QB Jimmy Weirick
S Zykeith Abercrombie
S Dawson Hoffman
WR Landon Parker
OLB/DE Tanner Barnes
RB D’Mauriae VanCleave
S Isaiah Walker
CB Tyreece Luther

Unknowns: Ifanse, TE Mason Bernhardt, WR Michael Campbell, CB Cagan Campbell, WR Bryson Smith, CB/WR Ja’Cory Burks, WR Isaiah Wardlaw.
But we really need an ILB (and maybe OLB depending on whether Fuller plays SS or OLB).
Heee is a nice piece on VanCleave: https://twitter.com/charliewaltertv/sta ... 3301592065

Love everything I know about this group. VanCleave is a SHD, pure and simple.

Excited to learn about the usual late "surprise" signees, many of whom turn out to be top notch.

On NSD Eve, I am wishing for a big, strong, fast ILB.
