I'm sure Mike Ayers will be making the flight with every intention of playing another game on the 16th of December.

I won't worry about Sagarin and the others. The Terrier team from the last three games is a big improvement from the team playing the first 9 games. We had opportunities to keep it close against the Chickens.

NDSU Game notes. They look big but not as big as I expected. Although size is not the entire story .... http://www.gobison.com/documents/2017/1 ... df?id=9616

they are still pretty frickin huge on the OL side. Then again, I guess we're pretty big too on the DL, bigger than we were last time

They are big but YSU was the biggest best OL we faced last year (better than Ol Miss) and we should have won that game (2 OTs). We will be fine.
I forgot they had a LB that had 29 tackles v us. But then again I forgot we outgained them with well over 300 yards. I did remember them saying EB ran for more yards on them in the dome than anybody else.
But that was then and this is now. 2 different teams. Nothing equates really although I do think we are better up front defensively and of course we don’t have EB (or that OL).
Bottom Line: they are good, we are good. Let’s see who wins.

Sagarin is immaterial. In the parlance of today's political discourse it is fake news. This game will be like any other and be determined on talent, execution, coaching, attention to details, luck and heart. Wofford could win and they could lose. They could even get beaten soundly. Most pundits expect that and it might happen. If so, then hats off to the Bison because they'll have done something that very few have done. But, what I am certain of, is that Wofford will fight to the end. It might be a different team each season, but it's our culture.

Probably one of the most sound beatings we've taken at the FCS level was the Delaware game in 2003. They had our number all day and we couldn't answer their athleticism. But if you want to see what Wofford is about, then watch that game, especially the last minute. Watch a Wofford team down by 20 points pick themselves up off the mat and absolutely will themselves down the field for a touchdown as the clock dwindled down. Not because they could win the game, but because they owed it to each other. The Delaware fans may have stormed the field so that we never got the chance to kick the extra point for that touchdown, but by gaining those six points and missing out on the chance at that one point, the 2003 Terriers helped cement a tradition and mindset that still exists today. A work colleague of mine that is a Delaware alum commented for years after that game that he'd never seen a time so unwilling to back down no matter what.

It's been five years since we last traveled to Fargo. A lot has happened, a lot has changed and a lot is the same. I expect a hard fought game with lots of pads popping. Both teams will get a taste of some things they haven't seen much of and the n that reacts the best will probably win. This years trend dictates that Wofford probably won't be up big late in the game. The Bison should hope they are up big since Wofford is so good at working miracles. But, if it's close, especially razor-thin margin of error close, then I like the T-Dogs' chances and so long as Wofford has a shot, then you never know what might happen.

He ought to have a screening of Rocky 4 on the flight (not that I think the Bison are steroid drenched Communists, but you get the point).

Just watched Coach Klieman's press conference and it easy to see why NDSU is so successful. He's a classy guy who obviously understands football and how to coach the players he has for maximum success. He was very complimentary of Wofford, much like Coach Ayers was of the Bison today. The challenge is immense, but so is the reward for success.

I think there's a good chance we could see Newman in this game.

If you look at how NDSU has played against the option in the past, without looking at film, the stats suggest they want the QB to beat them. Against us and Georgia Southern both times, the QB was in the top two in rushing; let's remember that neither Brian Kass or Jaybo Shaw were speedsters too.

I'd put Goodson as faster than both, but not as good of a passer as either (though he was more efficient than Kass I think), so it'll be interesting to watch.

Newman hurt Youngstown last season. I think there is a good chance we will see him in this one as well.

I would respectfully submit that Goodson is the best passing QB we have had in a long time.

The only comparable passer in the last decade is Ben Widmyer. Widmyer had a slightly higher completion percentage. Maybe Josh Collier as well. My memory fades beyond that though.

It's worth mentioning that those QBs did more downfield passes than Goodson and probably threw it less per game
