Alright, so I don't know how much it costs to park ($5-10 maybe? I've always had a student pass or used a friends), and I don't think you've attended a game since the new arena so let me run it down for you.

There will be home fan parking in the lots between Gibbs, the new greek village, and the old Cumming Street School. The best way to access it (speed wise) is to come from pine street onto cummings street. I don't work for Wofford's sports information department but I would almost guarantee that the kids area will be set up a couple hours before kickoff.

I'd call the SID about the specifics about where specifically to park, but there's *always* room to tailgate pretty much in every lot.

Unlike when you were playing ball, everything is optimally placed for a decent pregame experience. The fraternity row is on this side of campus, and though we don't have *as much* parking with the new row and arena in the same area, we have plenty for the size of the average turnout.

If you're a Furman fan lurking on this board (welcome), your parking will likely be a little bit farther away on the opposite side of the Basketball arena. Then again, I think you guys know where to park, because chances are if you're trolling message boards you visited the first game.

Hey y'all. I hear tell there is a football game up there in SparkleCity this week. True?

Well, that's awesome! I almost, but didn't, enjoy my trip up that way in September and felt pretty much exactly the same way about my trip to Maconga the following week.

You know what they say though...3rd time's a charm!

Anyway - FUBeAR and 8-10 of his Paladin Teammates are making the trip from ATL to SparkleCity this Saturday in an RV (which, henceforth, shall be known as "Bus2.2017" or "LoveMachineRedux"...but those are other stories :-) )...

So...What's the deal with RV Parking there? I haven't found anything about it mentioned in the Gameday / Parking / Tailgating info.

Any info to share? Special Lot? Special Price? Etc.?

THANKS!!!!

I would call the sports information department for Wofford. I imagine it will be on the IM field the opposite side of Gibbs, but I don't think I've heard of opponents bringing an RV before.

OIRB#3- As a former player you shouldn't hesitate to call the SID or Athletic Director's office or even the football office and see if they can get you some passes to park or whatever. One other thing. Be sure to bring a cardboard box or some large piece of cardboard that your daughter can use to slide down the hill in the end zone areas. At her age you may need to help her out a little, but she won't forget it! I wish I could somehow get you into my parking area. It sounds like we are going to have a pretty good Wofford crowd.
For you Furman fans. The best idea is to go to the Beacon around 1 o'clock and eat anything-a-plenty. Then you can casually walk to the game from there.

I'm afraid their bowels would prohibit that.

(you old timers will hate to hear that the Beacon is not visited as much by Wofford students anymore, late night cookout is the place to be)

Wish I could make it this weekend, but any home game against Furman reminds me of my favorite Terrier/Paladin rivalry moment. Prior to the game 6-7 years ago. It was a home game against them in the late EB era and we won fairly easily, but I can't remember the exact season. Anyway, my crew decided to catch a pregame lunch at Ike's and, as usual, the place was crowded with virtually everyone in Wofford gear. Them, in came a family decked out in Furman stuff. People looked up, but didn't seem to think too much about it since we Terriers are generally fairly agreeable. Then, something truly magical happened. The hostess walked over, looked at the Furman people and simply said, "We'll serve you, but you've got to sit outside". Maybe she meant that due to the crowded indoor seating area, but I prefer to take it as commentary on their Furman gear which is awesome and the whole situation has further increased the esteem that I have for Ike's.

The Beacon hasn't really ever been a college hang-out. I was at Wofford from 1978-1981 and the places to go were Jordan's for take out subs, and Mikey's for greasy food. The Beacon is a Spartanburg icon and I eat there once ever 1-2 years, but I'd rather go to Ike's.

I like it.....just as long as it is a controlled/focused/disciplined anger. We don’t need any silly penalties for being chippy.
