Chatt is the best 1-7 team in FCS. Almost beat Jax State and Cid, and looks like they will beat Samford today. They have gotten better and will beat us next week if we do not execute and play with poise.

Huge game next week.

Gotta keep pace with Furman for the socon crown now that Samford and Western have 2 L's in conference play

The Samford loss puts us back where we want to be at all times: in the driver's seat. Makes the next 2 weeks very simple. No what ifs, no math... We win and we clinch. Booyah!

The main key for next week is to avoid turnovers - Sammy had 7 today.
If we pressure the QB we can slow down Chatty’s offense. Our offense will need to play more consistently than they did today.

It appears to be possible to rattle Copeland, Chatt's QB; he is talented but not particularly experienced. I wonder where Bennifield is; he was preseason all-conference. He was temporarily suspended, but I would think he would be back. Tiano is another QB who has experience whom some regard highly; where has he been? What IS their story at QB?

I think Bennifield came back and got hurt early in the first game he played. Weren't the reports that he was out for the season?

Copeland is the youngest QB in the Socon and the youngest we've played all year. His completion percentage is lower than any we've played too.

If we get pressure on him and don't turn the ball over we'll be in good shape. The only thing that makes me hold my breath in this game is turnovers. Those can change the outcome of the game more than anything. If we don't turn the ball over we'll win this game.

Both Bennefield and Tiano were hurt in the WCU game. https://wdef.com/2017/10/01/mocs-quarte ... -carolina/

I do not know if they are still injured or the status of their injuries as of today. However I did see another article that said during the WCU game after Bennefield and Tiano were injured the UTC coaches decided to use another QB besides Copeland because they wanted to RS Copeland and they were hoping either Bennefield or Tiano would be able to return later in the season. But Copeland has played for several games now so I am assuming that means that Bennefield and Tiano are out for the season.

Also the Mocs score against WCU looks lopsided but WCU scored 14 points on easy, unusual plays and Copeland had not even played at that point. Now Copeland seems to be in somewhat of a grove even though he is still inexperienced. And of course the Mocs just beat Sammy. So the conclusion I draw from all of that is that the Mocs are back up to speed and are a dangerous team. They cannot be taken lightly and the Terriers have to play well in all phases.

I think they want to stay with Copeland. Tiano was not playing well this year and they just wanted a change of pace

+1. Chatt beat Samford and believes it can now beat us.

And if we aren't careful with the football they may be right. They are a talent team that is playing for next season and have nothing to lose at this point.

I love seeing these young men handle themselves so well.....So impressive. We are blessed with quality young men in this program. Seeing Roo and Miles be so humble and appreciative of their opportunity reminds you how special this program and these young men are.
