Are they still in the Mini Dome or did they build an outdoor stadium when they restarted the program? I have some memories from that old dome...but mostly from film because I got knocked out in the middle of the field 15 years ago by our center going the wrong way.

ETSU has built a brand-new smallish on campus stadium. Its really nice and should prove to be a great environment for football Saturdays for the Bucs. Artificial surface which I don't like but they didn't ask me.

I hear there is a hill in the middle of the field.

Anyway, the key to beating ETSU is running the ball well. No need to get fancy with the pass. They're already allowing something like 4.3 ypc defensively, and if you take away the Robert Morris game, that number jumps to 4.6 ypc. If we get a consistent push on the line and don't turn the ball over, I just don't see how they can beat us.

They *can* pass the ball efficiently at times, but if we put them away early it won't be a problem. Mercer didn't put them away early and they found themselves unable to stop a rally. Furman was able to score fast and efficiently, which led to them scoring a lot of points on ETSU, but ETSU answering with some big points in garbage time. The Citadel left a lot of points on the field and as a result, ETSU was with them late.

There's no indication at this point that they'll be a match with us in the trenches (as evident by our performance last year against them, but also our run defense stats v. their run offensive stats and vice versa from this year). So as long as we don't beat ourselves (turnovers, poor clock management, poor playcalling), I don't see this game as being close and I think it's less likely that we'll come out flat after last week.

For the ETSU FU game the final score was 56-35 which seems close enough to not be a blowout. But ETSU scored 18 points in the 4th so FU must have let up although I did not check that as I am assuming that is what happened. So it could and should have been a blowout. FU scored by passing and running as they had 12 first downs passing (301 yards, 3 TDs) and 16 rushing (308 yards, 4 TDs). ETSU had 19 first downs, 4 by penalties, 2 rushing and 13 passing. They gained 65 total yards rushing but lost 43. Is that a sign of OL weakness or just speed of FU defense ? Anyway I do not remember hearing about a team that lost 43 yards from rushing. So the Terriers O should be able to move the ball on the ground and throw in an occasional pass. Meanwhile our D should be able to stop their running game and force them to pass. But this game is not a gimme. We will have to play well on both sides to get a W. But if we do play well like we are capable then I think we will get a W. GO TERRIERS !!!

The stadium is named for an acquaintance, Bill Greene, who was a banker in the area and a Wake Forest man. Kind of like Jerry Richardson giving the stadium for Charlotte. Seems incongruous, but a nice gesture for the community. If ETSU is willing to stay with football and have patience they will become a force. For now I hope we go up there and hammer them. The rain has already started, and my decision to not drive that winding road from Boone to Johnson City seems to have been correct. Will sit at home and watch through my Roku connecting to Watch ESPN!

If they didn't have an artificial field they would be playing in a swamp.

Can someone please tell me why we throw endzone bombs on fourth down and manageable when we have a proven intermediate passing game.

I know it's one of those things that the coaches look like a genius when it works but dumb when they don't, but we haven't seen that play work all year

Agreed on the bombs, really don't understand. Hope Roo has figured out snapping with that cast. That plus the rain could cause issues.
