As we’ve come to expect, very heavily weighted towards the CAA & Missouri Valley conferences. I’m not so sure a Mercer or (hold my nose) furple team doesn’t deserve a nod by the time it’s all said & done. Still lots of football to play between now and late Nov.

I think that upset loss to ETSU will ultimately keep Mercer out.

Furman at 8-3 is a definite playoff team, but they still have a tough stretch over the next month. Their QB is not 100% either.

T4....I agree...I think both of those teams have an outside shot depending on how it plays out......But i think the SoCon is a 3 team bid league with the outside shot of 4......As of today I see (us, Western and Sammy) with a battle from Mercer, Furman and El Cid to get the 4th bid. All of that can obviously change by the end of it all with half the season left....

But I think we would like our draw in this one.....

Now that I think of it, a 7-4 surprise team isn't outside of the realm of possibility.

Remember last year, Samford went 7-4 and only had 6 D1 wins, but managed to make the playoffs. It was basically a combination of SoS. Had they not beaten us they wouldn't have gotten in.

So I take back what I said, a 7-4 Mercer/Furman team may get in

An ETSU loss didn't keep Samford out.

To make the playoffs, it helps to have 7 D1 wins. They have to win out to make that threshold and I don't see them doing it. Had they not lost to ETSU, they'd be in prime position

Watch out for ETSU; they have some talent, and have gained experience, and are capable of playing very well - no pushover, by any means.

I agree with Lawdog. ETSU is in a position to make a difference. With one upset in their pocket they will be layin' in the weeds, and we are the one they want.

ld u r correct about ETSU. They are not a pushover and we had better be ready when we play them. Watch the game between ETSU and Mercer to get an idea of their team. Granted Mercer is the better team between the two and should have won. ETSU's QB - Austin Herink - is a decent one. He can scramble and makes good decisions. Not as good as Hodges at Sammy or Adams at WCU though.
